Just Cats Veterinary Services — Attraction in The Woodlands

We recently moved to Houston and brought our cat Pebbles to Just Cats in May 2020 for a examination and her required shots. We paid almost $300,00 for this service which in our opinion was excessive compared to the same levels of services rendered by other vets nonetheless considering Woodlands etc. we realized that fees were commensurate with the area and we expected to receive quality care for our cat. Several weeks after this office visit we moved to Dallas. Prior to the move we did not receive a follow up call to see if the cat was ok. We had no idea of what was forthcoming. Recently we realized that there was a growth on the cats left leg where she was injected. I contacted Just Cats and they verified that where the growth is at is where she was injected. The long and the short of this is that we are going to loose our cat prematurely after being examined and evaluated by a local vet because of the incompetence of this vet. In no case should a animal or a human being be injected when there is a possibility of infection or such a reaction that could cause either the animal or human to loose its life. I am extremely disturbed and aggravated at the lack of responsibility taken by Just Cats and the manufacturer of the vaccine that she was injected with. For us to save our cat will cost a minimum of $5000.00 and may result in the loss of her left leg. We are retired and do not have this type of excess money. This is unconscionable that no one takes responsibility for this type of a tragedy neither the vet or the maker of the vaccine. Innocently we brought our family member to this vet, paid $300.00 for the services only to know that she is slowly dying. Why would anyone use a vaccine that could have such horrible side effects, that could cause the premature death of a treasured part of ones family. I don't have the resources to sue these people but be aware that this could happen to you. Make sure that your vet fully explains to you personally what side effects could occur with the injections given, do not depend on a follow up letter. They must fully explain verbally what could happen and ask your permission to administer the medication.. Personally I do not think that any medication should be administered if the side effects could cause such severe complications as growths, amputations or death. Very...

I am not sure why just cats does NOT have five stars?? I would give them a million stars if I could. First Mister O’Malley was the best greeter ever :) second Rhonda was amazing when contacting me to set greys initial surgery. Long story short I had a terrible experience with another place and honestly I’m glad. Because this allowed me (or my vet) to find such a great place!!! The staff was AMAZING (sorry i forgot the vet tech who was in my initial consultations name but she was a super star!!) the vet tech just put me at ease immediately. I’m super picky with my pets and I ABSOLUTELY NEED people that care because my animals deserve the best. She allowed grey to do what ever he wanted (he wanted to sit the the cabinet but it’s not allowed at home) which made him super comfy. I was in tears when I had to leave him over night but she reassured me that he will be well cared for. Which he was. Then there is Dr. McManis….I don’t even have the words to express how grateful I am. She went above and beyond to make sure I fully understood the surgery grey would need. She was up front but delivered the information in a way that put me at ease. She listened to my concerns and answered all questions I had. Post surgery she followed up via phone and she walked me step by step through the procedure. Again I can’t even express how grateful I am. Most importantly I know grey is so grateful and can now live a more comfy life. It’s hard for me to trust anyone with my pets but hands down I would recommend just cats for anyone looking for a great vet and staff that truly cares. this place was the total opposite from the last place I had visited. Grey was priority. Period. I would recommend this place to anyone hands down and without a doubt. Anyone I know or any person I meet that has a cat will definitely hear about this place. Using another reviewer’s words, if I could give them a zero or a negative 10, I would. Like that person, these people LIED TO ME....several times while I was waiting for them and their schedule so my poor painful cat could have surgery. Every time they talked to me, arrangements, costs, time of surgery, changed. They contradicted themselves time and again, while trying to scare me into adding more pre surgery tests, care, more after surgery costs, procedures. Arguing and bullying me. However, because I walked out, the day before my cats surgery was scheduled, in fact, to avoid a scene in the office, and said that I would call them from home. But, before I got home, they had called and LEFT A VOICEMAIL, telling me they would not do my cats surgery because of my behavior.....which behavior was simply disagreeing with them on parts of their treatment plan, and refusing to give in to their games. I must say, I am so happy that they cancelled the surgery......I would have lost my deposit, which was substantial, had I done it, but I was going to take that chance, I had decided. I couldn’t bear the thought of putting my cat into their care.. By that time, I completely was so upset that I felt trapped and that I had to trust them with my cat, only trying to bear with them because my cat was suffering and in pain. So much for how much they care about JUST CATS. I’m very relieved and thankful, and that’s why I’m doing this review. They truly are liars, and they are very much about money. Just...
