I have been going to RE-PC for years. Gene is about as friendly as one can get. Their employees are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I see a couple lower reviews and can only assume they or an employee had a bad day.
I discovered RE-PC computer repair after many years of deferring to Best Best Buy for computer repairs, as that's where my warranty was purchased. But once expired, my choice was to go without or renew the warranty.
The problem was, if I needed a repair, I had to wait a week or more with not word a of the problem, repairability or actual ETA of my hopefully repaired computer. A rather flat humane response.
I am a heavy user business person and cannot afford an unknown down time or manaya attitude.
Nowadays, I simply go to RE-PC with my computer problems. Tell Gene, or an employee, of my issues. I get great service, see that others get the same and feel totally comfortable with their service.
They take a moment to listen to my issue and frequently advise on their solution. I have turned a "give us your computer for 7-10 days, or more", to your cord is the problem, and they got cords! Here take this cord and your problem is resolved. And BTW.... That was my last computer issue. my Lenovo Yoga's asinine power cord to computer plug-in end had an internal break and Gene just bent the computer end in a 90 degree, demonstrating knowledge of my complaint immediately, reached over and handed me my solution. A NEW cord! Turning that unknown moment into a Hallelujah moment!
RE-PC has dedicated, knowledgeable, friendly repair people who diagnose the issue, most frequently at the moment, else I leave my computer and they get back to me within hours with the diagnosis and needed repair.
In short, RE-PC is much more that a REcycle joint. It is now my trusted Go-To repair shop. They get the job done, PROFESSIONALLY, timely and happy to return for my future needs.
BTW, I have been in the business of Consulting businesses on Social Media Marketing and how to get reviews. It really chaps my hide when someone who has a bad day, or negative reviews, don't think, with charity... it may just be them who is the source of THEIR bad experience or even more charitably, an employees had a bad day.
Did you know....
If you really want to check out more about a bad review, you can frequently just click on the reviewer name and READ their OTHER reviews! What kind of people are you trusting for your decision to use or not use a business! It could just be a Glass Full or Half Full personality!
RE-PC, Gene and the Crew deserve your business!! And will create a satisfied customer out of you. Like they did with this totally...
Read moreWell. They might have what you're after. But if they do, they're probably charging unreasonably high prices for even the downright ancient tech (you should see the FastEthernet switch prices! good grief). Oh and they seem to not care about customers - and insisted I couldn't count
Did my usual look around (they occasionally have interesting things dropped off in bulk, and this time its cheap headphones tangled up). Found a few cables and adapters I had hoped to find, and even spotted an old tape drive but didn't have a tag or nearby (ie: if it fell off) so I took my selections to the register and waited my turn.
Overheard the gentleman ahead of me picking up a replacement computer from a submitted repair and was disappointed by their interaction (they were trying to play off how they treated the machine being replaced, yikes, not a time to be given grief as an already distressed customer..). My own interaction went about as well as the guy in front of me.. I had a question about an old drive that didn't have a price tag (figured I'd ask at the register, since there was no one else to ask, looking it up then or checking for pricing) and was lambasted for having picked up the item that wasn't personally placed on the floor by another employee walking by (okay, I guess I look to be a customer for anything that doesn't have a price tag that's in your showroom floor?).
While I was given grief for wanting to purchase an old tape drive, the guy went away and came back with an incredible price for the thing - and not a good incredible! So I declined and then he tried to convince me (insisting and recounting the entire 4 line items of the invoice) multiple times over that I was attempting to purchase 6 cables and literally stopped to count them out and only then relented. Oh boy. Yeah, so I finally made my purchase, walked away, and now know I will only go back here as a last resort.
Moral of the story is: sure, go here and check this place out for cool stuff, look around, maybe pick up some cables and odd adapters, but don't expect used prices here. Hopefully your customer experience goes...
Read moreMy original review of REPC in 2012 was only two stars due to a leaving a few times feeling like I overpaid consistently no matter how many or how few things I bought here. However, the store has relocated from Anderson Park West to Anderson Park East and well I am not sure when exactly revisions to their pricing strategy have been implemented I have seen a general Trend downwards on the prices of the majority of their inventory. These changes are very telling, as no matter what business day of the week it is or what time of the day that it is there's always customers coming and going from this store now whereas it was usually very empty at the old location. used to not be anything like a bustling business that I currently at the previous location there's always people at the store now lots of new faces as well as plenty of repeat customers. In light of the turnaround in business strategy the management has made over the years has made me reconsider my original rating. This establishment is now one of my favorite places to visit and shop at, seeing as how tremendous the improvement since I last reviewed REPC in 2012 has been. Especially a lot of the prices are now much more reasonable then they were before a fair amount of the time and there are still plenty of great deals sitting among all the other trinkets that fill the many plastic tubs here full of...
