Only 2.5 hours from Salt Lake??? Details below! 👇👇👇 🗓 Be sure to share and save for your future trip! Southern Idaho has unbelievable beauty that you must see! We were blown away on our visit by how many unique landscapes there are to see! Only a 2.5 hour drive from Salt Lake City, Southern Idaho makes for a perfect weekend getaway! Regardless of when you visit, you will be blown away! Here is a full 2 day itinerary that will blow you away! ✅ Day 1: 💧Perrine Coulee Falls •Not too far off the parking area in Twin Falls, this waterfall is unbelievable! This area looks like it was transported from Iceland! This waterfall is a must see! ⛰ Teepee Rocks •These rock formations will make you feel like you are on another planet! A short hike from the parking lot, wandering through these formations is spectacular! 🏠City to stay overnight: Burley ✅ Day 2: 🏔️ Castle Rocks State Park •Must do hikes: Castle Rocks Trail, Around the Rock Trail 🏔️City of Rocks National Reserve •Must see: Window Arch 🚨Off season warning: Idaho can get hit with a lot of snow fast. Castle Rocks, City of Rocks, and Teepee rocks require driving in areas that are not always maintained in the winter. If you are visiting and there is snow on the road, do not attempt to drive to these places unless you have 4 wheel drive. Having chains is also a must if you want to visit City if Rocks. It is very easy to get stuck in the snow. As always, please follow the leave no trace principles while visiting the parks. Take out any trash you bring with you including compostable material like apple cores and bread scraps and sadly now masks. If you encounter animals like squirrels, chipmunks, or marmots, please do not feed them as it encourages them to go closer to humans and steal their food (this has become a major problem in the parks). Together we can make our parks wonderful for everyone to enjoy! Tag someone you would bring here! Drop a like, save and share this post, and leave a comment with your thoughts!

I can imagine walking behind/ under the Falls is a fun experience. But that would have been a tremendous safety hazard today (14 Nov).

Although it hasn't been snowing for a while, some parts were completely frozen. You can have a look from the corner of the street that will lead you downhill (there are parking spots right there, but you can hardly tell). There's a short cut down to the fall, but it has changed into a dangerous icy slide. You will fall/slide down if you even attempt to go down. But... it was so magical!! What a view.

Go around the Falls to take a short hike uphill (very doable, we did it with our young kids). You will be able to have a closer look.

You can get close, but don't walk to the Falls. First, from there on the road was icy and therefore dangerous. But also, the ice cones will fall and you don't want those sharp comes on your head. But so... it is so beautiful. With the short hike and its one of my favourite waterfalls of the States I've seen....

After viewing Shoshone Falls (which were in full flow, so quite spectacular to see), we visited Perrine Coulee for a chance to walk behind a waterfall. We loved it! We visited early on a Friday afternoon in August, arrived just as another group was leaving, and enjoyed 15 minutes of great views and refreshing mist behind a gorgeous waterfall. Another group arrived just as we left.

The path to the falls is at the first switchback on the way down the road. It’s an easy walk along the road up from the parking area at the second switchback, and a short walk from the opening at the rail to...

Just west of downtown Twin Falls the Snake River Canyon Rim Trail takes in another striking waterfall. Here, the Perrine Coulee, which weaves northwards through the city, plummets over the south wall of the Snake River Canyon from a height of almost 200 ft.

You can see the falls from above on the Canyon Rim Trail, but there’s also a path at the bottom, in front of Centennial Waterfront, leading you behind the waterfall itself.

There’s a good chance you’ll get wet on this route, especially when the waterfall is at its strongest in summer, but this...
