Island Style — Attraction in Tybee Island

If you're anything other than caucasian, BEWARE! Lady with a mid neck-length bob followed my family and I around the store. When we finally noticed, she was pretending to be cleaning the sun glasses. She finally came up to us and asked if she could help us with something after we noticed her profiling. We were on the way to the beach and needed a few items for the kids to have fun and play in the sand, when we realized this lady was following us around the store, we put everything down, my husband and kids went back to our vehicle and I proceeded to the front register and gave the "manager" I assume a bit of advise. My innocent children had no idea what was going on. But my husband and I gave them a speech as soon as we were both in the car...It really is a sad reality that our children, black and brown can't be children. They have to tip toe around in this world, praying they won't be targeted, profiled, and/or harassed because of somebody's presumption of them based on the color of our skin. I wish I could give...

Horrible experience. My family was recently shopping in this store and was caught in a terrible lightning storm that caused the power to go out. We were brought to the center of the store and told because of liability we would need to leave the store. We had walked to the store and had no means to protect the small children with us from the rain or lightening. No regard was given to our safety despite that local authorities had asked people to remain inside. When this was brought to their attention, one employee said he would need to "call someone" to figure out what to do. Another employee came later and said that the store was closing and we would have to leave. They would call a cab for us if we would like. Two families were put out into the storm. Not worth the cheap soveniers. Will never go in another Of these stores at any location after such...

If you decided you were on your way to the beach, and realized you forgot something, this is probably the place you want to get it. The prices aren't stupid expensive and they have most everything you're gonna need. Trunks for most guys, suits for most gals, hats, towels, toys for the kids. They've also got a pretty expansive amount of tchotchkes for that spoon or shot glass or souvenir coffee cup collection fetish you've got going on. There's a lot of places on Tybee for this kind of stuff, but I prefer this one myself...explore and see if you come to a similar conclusion...heck, let me know if there's a better one that I'm...
