I hadn’t been there since I was 12 and went back this year; without my kids, to walk through and explore the exhibits at my own pace. I should have just brought my kids. I had been to Wizard Quest a few years back and immediately recognized the layout. Most of the features had been repurposed, slides and all. It was a colorful, cheery, non-museum-esque entrance. I was surprised that the entrance, and most of the museum, was an art display, not an oddity. I figured it would shift as I got further in: I spent the most time in the room with the shrunken heads and the theater as that had the most artifacts and least art. Everything else seemed like YouTube famous art selections (3D makeup, portraits made from pushpins and repurposed puzzle pieces, 4 different machines from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang). I really wanted more stuff that made me say, “that’s not possible, is it?” I wanted the weird, not the artsy, especially for thirty dollars a person. The stuff they had for kids was truly cool, I appreciate the thought that went in making it interesting to kids. There’s lots of fidgets attached to the walls around the displays. But that’s not what I came for and I didn’t know it was different until I went in. I wish it was called something different, with all the changes, or at least removed the old photos and updated the Google listing description. It’s not really Ripley’s Believe It or Not anymore.

It seems like a lot of this experience comes down to a matter of preference, as my family all loved the new Ripley’s experience. The open exploration experience is different from traditional Ripley’s, yes, but I thought it a very welcome change. The secret discoveries were treats for my two young boys (ages 2 & 4), and they did 2-3 rounds of the museum and did not want to leave. The art was fun to look at, and we loved the inclusion of local artistry. My boys enjoyed seeing what different pieces were made of and taking advantage of the photo ops. They repeatedly asked to go back to multiple exhibits. Their eyes were lit up the whole time and they couldn’t wait to keep exploring. It was a much better experience for us than trying to slow them down while we read and observed in traditional Ripley’s museums that follow a path. We adults, too, enjoyed our time and will be going back.

The new location is great! They managed to take the old Wizard Quest hidden surprises and make an interactive experience that's uniquely Ripley's. I was under the impression that they shifted to more art-focused displays in lieu of traditional Ripley's items, but it turns out that the amazing art stuff is *in addition* to the crazy things one expects to find at Ripley's. There's a challenge to find the unique taxidermy animals throughout, and we were only 2 away from finding all of them. The bats and the two-headed rooster eluded us despite having checked (what seemed like) every nook and cranny multiple times for secret entrances to hidden spaces. We'll get them next time!

I love Ripley's believe it or not at first I thought it was going to be small and boring when I first got in. But when you go in a little more deeper inside it will blow your mind. If you have an Explorer's heart this is the best place for you. There alot to see and there a lot of hidden pathways and hidden doors or window!!!! I will come again with my whole family and friends. Also little kids and parents will love this place because it opens new ways of thinking and kids can explore to there heart's content and see new things. Just like my family did it open our eyes.

I love the show Ripley's Believe it Or Not. The museum has many exhibits and a few secret passages. Kids would love it. It's fun to get some pics. If you watched the show before, you would love to see some familiar records.
