El Cacharrito — Restaurant in Quindío

Honestly, overrated. I went on the recommendation of my accommodation and the glowing reviews. I don't get it. The burger bun was soggy and obviously hadn't been toasted (even lightly). This made it difficult to eat the burger as the bun felt like it was going to fall apart at all times. The burger pattie was overcooked and tough. The fries were also soggy and oily as they'd clearly been pulled out of the oil too early, and they also hadn't dried off enough. They had no seasoning, no salt or anything.

Service was fine, not over friendly but not rude. I wasn't given a receipt at the end though, just told how much to pay. This makes me suspect they automatically added on a tip, even though their menu says it's optional and the server will ask if you want to tip and how much.

Durante nuestra visita a Salento, un encantador pueblo del Quindío conocido por su arquitectura colorida y su cercanía al Valle de Cocora, decidimos probar un restaurante especializado principalmente en hamburguesas, ubicado a solo una cuadra de la plaza principal, justo donde se encuentra la iglesia. Esta ubicación es bastante conveniente, ya que permite llegar fácilmente caminando desde los principales puntos turísticos del pueblo.

Desde el primer momento, el ambiente del restaurante nos pareció acogedor y muy agradable. El lugar está bien decorado, con un estilo moderno pero que mantiene ese aire cálido y relajado que caracteriza a los negocios locales en Salento. Las mesas están bien distribuidas y el personal fue muy amable desde que entramos, explicándonos el menú y dándonos sugerencias según nuestros gustos.

El menú gira principalmente en torno a las hamburguesas, pero no por eso es repetitivo o limitado. Al contrario, ofrece una variedad interesante de opciones, tanto clásicas como con ingredientes más creativos, lo cual nos sorprendió gratamente. Además, tienen la opción de convertir cualquier hamburguesa en combo, lo cual incluye un refresco por un precio adicional bastante razonable. En nuestro caso, decidimos cambiar el refresco por una cerveza artesanal local, pagando una cuota extra, lo cual nos pareció una excelente alternativa para disfrutar más aún la experiencia gastronómica.

Las hamburguesas que pedimos llegaron en un tiempo adecuado y, al probarlas, no pudimos estar más satisfechos. Eran de muy buen tamaño, con una carne jugosa, bien cocinada y acompañadas de ingredientes frescos y sabrosos. El pan también era de buena calidad, suave pero consistente, lo cual evitó que se desarmara al comer. Se notaba que los ingredientes eran preparados con esmero.

Además de las hamburguesas, decidimos probar también una porción de alitas de pollo, y fue una decisión acertada. Las alitas estaban crujientes por fuera, jugosas por dentro y venían acompañadas de una salsa deliciosa que complementaba muy bien su sabor. Sin duda, se notaba el cuidado en la preparación de todos los platos.

En resumen, este restaurante no solo cumplió nuestras expectativas, sino que las superó. La calidad de la comida, el buen servicio, la ubicación conveniente y el ambiente agradable hacen de este lugar una opción altamente recomendable si estás visitando Salento y deseas disfrutar de una excelente hamburguesa (o unas ricas alitas) en un entorno relajado. I’m a lifelong vegetarian and I ate beef for the first time today due to the restaurant messing up my order, despite the fact I said the name of the burger and pointed to it under the vegetarian section of the menu. While I understand how the mistake was made as there is a meat burger with the same toppings, it had a different name and ultimately the staff should have been paying more attention when I ordered. When they realised I was clearly really upset and they changed the burger and apologised, but still charged us full price for everything and added service on the bill! We refused to pay the service.
