hostal bamboo — Hotel in Quindío

Superb stay! A short walk to the centre, it is very safe walking around this town as a solo female traveller. The views are incredible and it is very peaceful. My room was excellent, see the pictures below for the view from the bed. Very good shower, first time I've had a really hot shower since I arrived in Colombia. I didn't use the shared areas because I was out a lot, but there is a terrace with seating and a hammock, filtered water available so you don't have to buy and carry any to the room. Perfect place to recover from the activities the area has to offer. John was so accommodating, first he let me leave my bags and get changed and freshen up at 6.30 am as I arrived on an early bus, check in was quick and easy, then on my last day Jhon let me leave my bags again as I was leaving at 10pm, I came back at around 7pm thinking that was long enough, but he insisted there was no rush and that I should treat the place like home, he let me freshen up and enjoy my last meal at a nearby restaurant (Bumi Natural kitchen, which I couldn't recommend more, it was fantastic) without having to carry all of my bags. It is cheap, which is nice but don't expect more than a very basic room. The room and bathroom were extremely humid and towels never properly dried during our 4 day stay. There was constant condensation on all windows and on the bathroom's walls. The facilities are also basic and not everything is in the best shape.

The kitchen, which is half outdoors, is enough to cook and there's a nice place to chill. Note that there are many insects and big spiders around as most of the common spaces are half outdoors.

Jhon makes you feel like at home and is always available if you need anything The views are incredible, it's a pleasure to wake up in the morning There is also a shared terrace with a nice view towards the city centre and lots of beautiful birds that fly around here the room is simple but has everything one needs. Very clean, hot water in the showers also worked & most importantly we had some good and refilling rest 🙏 Wifi was also good
