Lovely hotel located in Diocletian's Palace. However, very difficult to locate, only found after wandering around alleys with my luggage in tow. MANY stone steps to get to hotel and the hotel itself had 5 flights of stairs to get to the room with a balcony - but other than looking outside- the balcony is unusable. Bed was on a simple metal frame and squeaked every time you move on it- seemed not quite secure if you had 2 people on it or were a larger person. Also- please don't take a $80 euro taxi from the airport to the Riva- this is a scam- take an uber instead- or hop on one of the numerous shuttles from the airport to the Riva- which is the central location. POSITIVES- very nice staff, was given recommendations for restaurants nearby, assisted with luggage on arrival and departure. VERY clean, quiet and safe location. NEGATIVES- very audible cathedral bell ringing every hour starting at 6am everyday. this would be considered quaint but if you have long travels and need extra sleep this is a bit much. Unstable bed- very thin mattress. No email or watsapp notice beforehand of expected arrival or location. If I knew where the exact location was I could have saved money and taken a shuttle instead of being scammed with a taxi that didn't event take you to the hotel. All in all - very nice place- but people should know about the steps and hard to...
Read moreThis is a small hotel located within the Diocletian's Palace. Fantastic location within minutes of walking to restaurants, Riva, ferry port and sightseeing points.I liked that the hotel was on a quiet side street.||The room was clean, trendy and spacious, but lacking some basic supplies and impractical in some ways. There's no facial tissue. The bathroom had no wall hooks at all, but one small towel heater not large enough for 2 towels. It was not easy to set out clothing, towels and toiletries. ||It's advertised as having a staffed front desk but not really during my stay. The desk was closed from 11am-3pm. I arrived at this time and had to call the staff to let me in, which she was very nice. Actually during my 2 night stay, I only saw the front desk person once. The staff responded quickly with text messages and phone calls. It was totally fine to not have a full time front desk, but I think advertising correctly is important to not create false...
Read moreWe found this hotel excellent. The rooms were reasonably small but adequate for the two of us. It was clean and comfortable. The bathroom in particular was very pleasing with a lovely large shower. There was no kettle but they provided one as soon as we asked. The receptionist was extremely helpful, coming to find us when we couldn’t find the place when we arrived. He even carried our cases. The location is excellent. We haven’t previously experienced anything quite like it set as it is inside the remains of the Diocletian Palace. We could hear the singers and the church bells from our room. So many bars and restaurants in the surrounding area and all good. Also close to the harbour with the promenade bars where we spent many hours in the shade people watching. Would certainly recommend Mijama Suites as the perfect place to stay in...
