Pension Pod Skalkou — Hotel in okres Český Krumlov

We booked a room with a front patio in this accommodation. We checked in around 9pm after a 2.5hr drive so we were very tired, so after taking a shower we went straight to bed. Around 9am we had already checked out of the room. We were told that we could leave our car in their parking for the day so we could visit Cesky Krumolov on foot and so we did. At around 11am we received a call from the owner of the property stating that we damaged the door that leads to the patio, and that they called the technician (that's what he called him) who went onsite and inspected the said door and said that the damage is the outcome of misuse!! We were enjoying ourselves at this little village but as soon as we received this call we got worried so we decided to leave and return immediately to the accommodation to see what was the matter and speak to this so called technician. In less than 15mins we were back but no 'technician' was there and no damage was shown to us. There was only the guy managing the place and he call the owner over the phone. They kept insisting that we had to pay 500KC for the damage, but we were sure we didn't do any damages. I was left speechless, how one can damage a door only by opening it to go out on the patio we paid for and have some fresh air!!! The owner insulted my husband saying that he was dishonest and my husband draw his attention that if we had made any damages we won't have left our car there to return for it in the evening! Moreover we would have draw attention ourselves and pay for the damage if anything of this sort had happened! I started feeling that we were being scammed, and also remembered I read similar stories while doing my search before our visit, so I told my husband to go get the car and leave while I blocked the automatic gate so they don't close it and block us inside, which in fact they try to do. I assure you that it was a horrible situation and was on the point to call the police but I did not have my mobile with me. Shamelessly he started shouting in my face to call the police.||||To cut a long story short, at the end the owner told my husband who was still on the phone with him that we could leave but not to leave a bad review online!! AS IF!!!||||To add insult to injury during this heated conversation the owner said that he saw me (i was in the room at night) struggling to open this door! Thinking about it later I wonder if guests are being illegally watched while in the privacy of their room!!||||I must add that we are a couple in our late forties and we are in the same rental business in our country so we treat others' property as we would like our property be treated!! ||||This ruined completely our visit to this lovely village Cesky Krumolov as we then decided to leave but thankfully we did our best not to ruin the rest of the day and holiday. ||||Few hours later we noticed that they reported us to the booking site we booked our accommodation on, most probably to save guard themselves from our bad review on this said website! It turned out that the customer care of the booking site apologised themselves for this behaviour and blame them for mistreating guests and accusing guests and not even having any proof of the said damage, and they encouraged us to...

An absolutely amazing stay, thank you again! The owner is incredibly helpful and nice, nothing is a problem, the whole hotel, restaurant, garden and surroundings are beautifully cleaned. Self check-in was possible, everything was perfectly prepared and described, a map of the city was also available, interesting places and the way to get to the city were marked (approx. 10 minutes of normal walking) We had room No. 2 with direct access to the terrace with a beautiful well-kept garden, where in the summer you can use the barbecue and the swimming pool, we were almost at the end of October, so it was already cold :) The room was clean and well furnished, there is TV (we did not use it), lamps and pluger available on both sides of the bed, in a wardrobe there are more pillows and plush blankets hidden in it :), in the bathroom Is available liquid soap/shower gel and hair dryer. French window and a balcony door to the terrace where you have armchairs, a small table and an ashtray and immediately a beautiful garden :) From the room you can also see the parking in the area. Of course, towels are also available. The stay includes a rich and tasty breakfast. Coffee, tea, milk, 3 types of juice, various fruits, sweet pastries, several types of yogurt, several types of corn flakes, vegetables, several types of bread (light, whole grain...), scrambled and boiled eggs, cheeses, salami, marmalade, butter, honey... It's just that everyone can find what suits them. And last but not least, the friendly owner and the whole team :). What a lovely apartment, close to town and lovely pool for the kids to enjoy. ||We had such a lovely stay at Pension Pod Skalkou. When we arrived, we were given a wealth of advice about where to go and what to do. All of which, checked out well! ||We were travelling with children, so the modern, clean apartment was well received. The pool was perfect and it had a cover for use in the rain. (The rain didn’t stop the fun.) I notice that someone else commented on the lack of soap and shampoo, we had plenty, plus washing up liquid for the kitchen. ||It was a quick walk into town but also easy to park and then use the car. The festival was on and we were given advice on what to watch and experience for free. ||The breakfast was lovely, with a great choice of hot food and fresh fruit. Supermarkets very close, so we did a good combination of self catering and eating out. ||I needed to see a doctor whilst there and I called the host at 7pm on the Friday night to ask for help and he was great. ||I cannot recommend this place more.
