We were at the restaurant for New Year's Eve. We pre-booked a table of 6 weeks in advance. The place was about half-full for the night, yet service was extremely slow, they didn't have enough menus at hand (we got 2 for the 6 of us), and the servers claimed they are very overwhelmed despite the restaurant not even being full. The menu had multiple missing items (2 out of 4 types of beer not available at a BREWERY), and the food we got was mid at best.
The most concerning part was the condecending style of our server (and all servers in general). At one point we figured we didn't get the right drink orders (first, we got 5 drinks for 6 people, then it turned out 3 beers were the incorrect kind), and when we told the server this, he brought the beers back to the bar (mind you it's an open bar, everyone can see it). The bartender just started TASTING OUR BEERS to figure out what kind he served, seemingly unable to figure it out. After some time we tried to again engage the waiter trying to figure out if he understood our order (they barely spoke English), and what is taking 15+ minutes in getting 6 drinks to the table, and he very very condescendingly kept telling us to "chill", and just refusing to tell us what's going on. It tells a lot, that later he and another server both came to us to apologise for their behaviour, but at that point the damage was already done. We also asked at what time they close, they told us either 23pm or 1am, which would have been quite critical information on NYE. We wanted to order some desserts around 22:30, they decleared kitchen is already closed for the night, and most staff just started leaving around 23pm without any explanation.
They also served soups before getting our drinks, started serving main courses before clearing the table from the emply soup plates, and no one bothered to ask us if we wanted anything else during the whole stay, we had to wave the waiters each time.
Avoid this place if you can, it's expensive, and you are not getting any worth...
Read moreWe were here yesterday and ordered a "Brewmaster´s roastpan (for 4 persons)" . According to the menu it is included: Pork knuckle, duck and chicken leg, white and red cabbage, dumplings variation, crispy onion. We chose this mainly because of the pork knuckle. When they brought out the dish, we thought they were bringing out someone else's order (while we were waiting for the dish, we saw several times that they brought out the wrong table). But it turned out that the dish in the picture was indeed ours. We asked where the pork knuckle were from the dish? At first they didn't really understand what the problem was. Finally they told us there was no pork knuckle. This was not indicated either in the order recordings or afterwards. If they had, we would not have ordered it. We were told that they had put an extra duck leg in place of the pork knuckle. So according to them, 1 pork knuckle = 1 duck leg. We told them that 2 duck legs and 1 chicken leg is not a dish for four person. They didn't understand what our problem was, they obviously had a problem with the English language. At this point they obviously didn't like us daring to complain. Finally they brought us an extra duck leg. Then I asked where the crispy onions were? The waiter grumpily went and got it. Of course the food had gone cold in the meantime.
The food and service should be 0 stars. The...
Read moreI entered the restaurant puzzled by why is there no one? I know the answer now. Skip, as it’s not worth your time. The claimed history and unique experience are just marketing words.
Staff barely speaks English, which is fine but the attitude we were approached with by (I think) the manager was really rude + she gave me looks. Sharp and cold phrases, no interest in accommodating. The rest of the waitresses tried their best.
Food was alright. We had goulash (3/5) and blue cheese with potato pancakes (this was really weird to my taste). Beer was good, tho served with 5 fingers worth of foam.
Google states it’s open until 22:00, however we were told that they are closing at 21:00. When a group of 6 people came in at exactly 9pm - they were sent back, but they pushed on the Google opening hours and were allowed to stay. Raises questions. Then at 21:10 we were told that the place is closing in a minute, so we can have the last round of beers. We left by 21:40 passing the only sign with actual opening hours and it clearly stated: until 10pm.
The mentioned manager was drinking wine and dancing behind the bar.
Shame on the owner, such a waste of such a historic place full...
