Likely the most beautiful hotel facade in the whole of Prague; and if you’ve been to Prague you’ll know that the competition for that claim is fierce! Originally build in 1889, it was rebuilt in Art Nouveau style between 1903 and 1905. A historic landmark that sadly seems to have now been closed for a number of years. As of Sept 2022 the writing “Grand Hotel Europa” has been removed. I sincerely hope this is for preservation reasons rather than because the hotel is going to be renamed as part of some “restructuring/rebranding” or acquisition. It would be an absolute crime against the architectural history of this city (unless it was to reacquire its original name “U Archivevody”).
