Excellent to be frank. I requested the tycho de brahe suite and was lucky enough to get that room, (requests of course are never guaranteed), and wow what a room. Very much played into my Dr Zhivago fantasies! Very comfy room with a good sofa and fantastic wood panelling. Small but good shower room and wc and some wonderful antiques in the room, (I wish I could have taken that dark wood chest with me!). The room smelt wonderful with all the old wood and i enjoyed the painting on the panels. You hear a bit more noise in the room than a brand new hotel as its an old building but I was not disturbed. I did appreciate the nice coffee and tea set up also. The bed was a touch too firm for me but thats personal preference and not a mark against the hotel. The public areas also had some interesting artifacts scattered about and one afternoon i wandered about just looking at the public areas.|Breakfast was in the hotel at the white lily opposite and was good with some czech pastry choices. They had honey cake one day which is something I particularly like. |Its in a quiet and safe area (you're just up from the US embassy) but not a hard walk to the old town and Malostranska metro station also. Bars and restaurants are very close also but its not crazy in the evening like old town square or Wenceslas square can be at times.|It's a small boutique place but it was also very secure, with a code to enter. Although I never felt that security was an issue. I dont think there's an elevator though so something to bear in mind.|Honourable mention should go to the ladies on reception who were very patient and helped me with the airport transfer and to the driver himself, Lada who drove very well and helped me miss getting stuck in traffic. |This was my 7th trip to Prague and i have stayed at a different hotel each time but the next time i come i will try my best to stay...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience with this hotel that I feel compelled to share. Due to an unexpected and serious emergency, I was unable to use my reservation. I immediately contacted the hotel, explained the situation, and requested a partial refund or a change of dates, hoping they would understand and show some empathy. Unfortunately, despite the gravity of the situation, my request was flatly denied.
The lack of flexibility and compassion shown by Lukas Krajicek, the General Manager, was extremely frustrating, especially considering the unforeseen nature of the emergency. While I understand there are policies in place, it’s disheartening when a business doesn’t consider the human element or show any leniency in extraordinary circumstances. I was hoping for a more understanding approach, especially given that I had to cancel under such serious conditions.
This experience has left me with a negative impression of the hotel, and I would advise potential guests to be cautious and consider the policies of this hotel carefully...
