The location of Prague Central Residence supports the price tag, but so many things can be improved. To start from the beginning. You book online, check-in online, and pay the City tax online, but to get the key, you have to go to the other side of the river to pay a deposit and get instructions. In an age when every AirBNB allows self-check-in, it is completely unnecessary. Install a keypad or a key box. It will make life so much easier. The apartment we received faces Spalena Street. This street is the main hub for Prague's trams. All of them pass under the window and make so much noise. It was good we got tired from walking all day, otherwise no sleep for us!!!! Except for that, the location is 100%. The apartments are close to all the main attractions, have good connectivity, and have easy access to the airport. The room we received had an elevator and a back entrance from the stairs. As a result, everyone going up the stores was looking into our living room and kitchen. The apartment was clean and organized when we checked in, but it needed some love and small repair work, especially in the wet areas. The furniture was OK and easy to operate, but the toaster went up in flames when we tried to use it. The WIFI covered only the living room, and even then, the service could have been much better. There was no AC, so we had to keep the windows open and accept the noise levels in exchange for the same fresh air. The restaurants in the area are great, with ample choice next door; no need to cross over to the more touristic areas. Overall if you are on a budget and don't mind the noise Prague Central Residence is a good place to stay, but please, please, please change the...
Read moreStayed here for 4 nights with 2 friends in August, 2016 and would not recommend! Firstly, you can't collect the keys for your room here, which would have been fine if we had been informed of this beforehand! Instead we booked a taxi here from the airport and only once we arrived found out, from a sign, that we had to collect the keys elsewhere (and not from somewhere close!) That cost more money and was a big inconvenience, it's not hard to let people know this beforehand. Apartments were in a great location which was the only good things about them. Other than that they were rated as 4* apartments but the upkeep was definitely 0*. Apartment was dirty - walking around in bare feet for 5 minutes our feet were black from the floors! There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, cracks in the walls, bits of plaster broken off the walls and lampshades missing. The toilet flush was broken and had just been left. The bathroom ceiling was disgusting, covered in wet marks and mould. The Wi-fi was terrible, it only connected briefly and didn't seem to reach to our room. The TV didn't work. Overall we were really disappointed with the apartment and wouldn't have booked it if you knew all of the above. The apartments have a lot of potential but have obviously not been cared for very well, which is a shame! There was also no member of staff there to talk to about our complaints which wasn't...
Read moreThe location of these apartments is perfect. Only a 10 minute walk from Old Town and 2 minutes to a metro station, shopping centre and supermarket. ||We had to pick the keys up from a different hotel which wasn’t much of a problem as we were aware of this before hand. Check in was easy and we were allowed to go to our apartment earlier than the allotted check in time.||However, the apartments themselves are a little dated and could do with some tlc. The beds weren’t particularly comfortable and there were places where the paint work needed topping up.||The biggest issue we had was the walls are paper thin. We could hear almost word for word what the group in the apartment opposite were saying. Not only that but the apartments seemed to have a built in door bell system which meant our doorbell was constantly being rung at 2am-3am in the morning by the drunk stag do who were staying in the room opposite (of course not the fault of the company) but the doorbell being connected to the phone made it difficult to stop the issue. In the end we had to hang the phone off the hook to stop the doorbell from ringing which meant we were able to get some sleep for the last night at least. ||Overall, it’s a good place to stay in terms of location and if you only need a place to rest your head for the night I would recommend. For the price you pay...
