This was the worst customer service I have received from an organisation in my ENTIRE LIFE We arrived at the hotel around 10pm. We were extremely tired from travelling so wanted a smooth check in experience. We had booked 2 apartments and in total we would have had a bed each, 6 bathrooms and 6 bedrooms. Shockingly, one of the receptionists aggressively told us that we are not getting 2 apartments as this is something ‘they would never agree to’. He instead insisted we share beds with each other and seemed to be speaking in Arabic to his colleagues who also jumped on the ‘bandwagon’ and started verbally attacking the 8 of us in a very patronising tone. We could tell they were mocking us between themselves, and the situation was getting very hostile. Although there were 8 of us, we felt overwhelmed with how we were being treated considering they initially kept proclaiming how we were their ‘brothers’ and ‘guests of Egypt’. We tried our best to remain calm but they kept trying to push us on our back foot and we truly felt cornered. We tried de-escalating many times but to no avail. We mentioned if they could at least give us 1 more room to which they replied, ‘If you want more rooms then pay for them’. The irony is, we booked and paid for 6 rooms but only got 2 – this was unbelievable. I then proceeded to show them the booking.com confirmation of the booking which highlighted what we had initially booked. The owner saw this and upon realization that we had booked 2 apartments, he gave a half hearted ‘sorry’ and COMPLETELY changed his tone and became very calm from being very aggressive. They STILL refused to give us the extra apartment and said they will ‘kick out’ a guest so we can get an extra bed for the night. Bottom line is, a few of us had to share that night and although the following day we received an extra room and all had our separate beds, we still did not get what we paid for We were afraid the staff can do anything to us as we would not put anything past them from there on in. We decided we need to build some form of positive relationship with them so that they treat us with some respect – this again was not a significant demand. To do this, we decided to ask them about a restaurant recommendation to which they replied that one of the staff will take us there. This seemed positive as the situation become quite friendly. Little did we know what was to come. We were taken to a rundown restaurant where upon entry, the hotel staff member spoke to a staff member at the restaurant again seeming to be mocking us ‘foreigners’. We sat down in a very run-down area with everyone looking at us like animals. Long story short, the food was near inedible, and the prices were extortionate. It seemed like there is some deal made between the hotel and the restaurant where money is involved. The above is just a depiction of the few hours after we arrived at the hotel. Below are the several other points which explains why you should not stay at this hotel whatsoever · Often no hot water (showers) · Shower base water didn’t drain · Had to carry luggage up and down 5 flights of stairs ourselves · Toilet paper took 2 days to receive · No WiFi · Breakfast was made by non English speakers so impossible to communicate · Smell of sewage 24 hours · Balcony floor constantly wet due to AC · Came across several other guests who were arguing with the receptionists at check in To summarise, Pyramid Stars Inn had no consideration for any of us – they actively tried to intimidate us knowing we are in a foreign country, unable to speak Arabic and expected to stay quiet and agree to anything they dictate. The ONLY positive was the view from the rooftop. I hope this review makes you think twice especially if you are going as couples or a group of...
Read moreIf I could have put 0/5 it would have been ideal. Our stay at the Pyramids Stars Inn was more than disappointing.
Firstly, before arriving at the hotel, we noticed an upgrade on the Booking app that we did not request (the upgrade was only monetary since no details of the booking had changed). We were then greeted by a young woman who did not speak English and did not seem to be aware that reservations had been made at this establishment. After waiting for someone who could speak English, we paid the amount in cash (our cards not working abroad and payment not being allowed on Booking). The manager invited us to wait "5 minutes" until our room was ready on the terrace which has a view on the pyramids. This terrace is located on the 5th floor without a lift and there was no offer to keep our luggage. The room preparation which was supposed to last 5 minutes actually lasted 1 hour, even though we arrived in the evening. The disappointment of waiting was even bigger when we arrived in a dirty and noisy room. I wish we had more pictures to show than the bathroom but at the time we didn't think of it.
The two nights we stayed both had problems: the first was that the curtain rod fell down so we were woken up by a beautiful sunrise at 4am. The second was due to the air conditioning not working for more than 5 minutes. We had to keep getting up to the circuit breaker in the hallway to turn it back on.
In addition to constantly trying to sell us extra services, not being very pleasant and putting pressure on us when we left to put 5/5 on Booking, our biggest surprise was when we reported the price increase to Booking and when the platform contacted the hotel, they said that we had never been there (which we would have preferred honestly). It was therefore impossible for us to rate them on the platform or to expect a refund.
In conclusion: do not go to this hotel. I don't like to give bad feedback on establishments but this experience was so awful (and from what I can read not exceptional). You will lose your money. Also, the area is really not nice. Prefer a hotel further away, but more comfortable.
And since I know that the manager will assure that my opinion is a fake (that's why I put pictures : to prove WE CAME), I would like to pass on a message: working myself in tourism and studying it for almost 5 years, you are a disgrace for our wonderful profession and I hope from the bottom of my heart that your establishment will go bankrupt to leave the place to honest people. And be sure that the travellers' forums, our entourage and all the people who will ask me how our stay was will hear about your hotel and...

THE GOOD Communication always flowed via WhatsApp… until running into disagreements, at which points turns to radio silence.
THE BAD From all places in Egypt, Giza is notorious for a lot of hassling and scams. I booked it on Booking dot com which actually support unscrupulous business owners, one by not asking for pictures of the property (they only show the nearest landmark picture of people happy in them) but also not addressing clients complaints when the property fails to deliver on something or right out making it difficult to cancel or cut short your reservation. When I txted the property manager who claims his mother takes care of everything, he would keep pushing this rundown place because of course they already got 6 nights paid in advance and don’t want to let go of the money. I went online to change the reservation dates and I get a decline answer from the hotel. Within less than an hour (after midnight from my first night there) I get a notification from booking dot come notifying that the “hotel” says I didn’t checked in. Not only I verified that I was staying there with photos, explaining I was checking out Friday instead of Tuesday. I didn’t heard again from customer service ever again.
THE WORST Because he (the property owner or manager) knew I was not going to leave a favorable review and claimed I didn’t checked in the property, Booking dot com effectively erased the booking as it never existed, it also remove me from being able to leave a review there because the reservation “does not exist”. When you see the reviews the property does have, they are all clearly from Egypt one liners with the same feedback and NO photos, they think they can fool people???
Now, that was just the experience, if you want to see by yourself why this a place to avoid, only look at all my pictures. IF they would had operated in good faith or the service would had compensated for this trash of property I would had been more lenient in my star rating but I feel scammed up until the very end when I got the refund from the rest of unused nights, in Egyptian pounds certainly I got ripped off as well but one knows when the battle is lost and is best to take the loss and move on. The fault is not entirely on the property or those that manage it but also in Booking dot com that condones and nurture this...
