Teemaa simply fills all the criteria of a perfect and impeccable tea store/house. Very firstly, great location. And at the first glance, unbelievably beautiful decor that gently but confidently invites you in, with its warmth and yet stylishly minimalistic touch. Very soon after you're accompanied by very friendly, caring staff and of course - conveying immensely profound and intriguing tea knowledge, of course anything less you wouldn't expect from true masters. And then what astounds me is their honestly actually heavenly tea collection that always invites you for more. Tea collection in which every single tea is a very special one. You just sense immediately that people here take their tea seriously, true tea culture indeed. And astonishment continues as seeing the care this company has for details, even the designs, fonts and color arrangements in their tea packagings just look superb. Without exaggerating, everything seems to fit together seamlessly. And without forgetting to mention their cozy and lovely tea room for experiencing their top shelf teas at the spot. I have found TEEMAA to be an oasis of tea culture.

Not only is it the only tea shop/tearoom in Helsinki that prepares teas according to what type of tea you're drinking and with the proper teaware to serve you with the best quality teas each time--with multiple infusions, but its atmosphere is dream-like and gives you a comfortable space in which you can relax and let go of your day-to-day problems.

Peng, the owner, is friendly and honest; she will never mislead you with the teas that she suggests, and she, as well as her staff (Mika and Xinyuan), are more than happy to help you choose your teas and to tell you all that you need to know about the teas you will be drinking.

TEEMAA has very carefully selected ALL of their teas. they have very good representatives of each tea family (color) at an amazing price!

Had the most amazing experience here, highly recommend anyone who is looking for a place for tea and cakes. I had the matcha cheesecake it's really tasty as mentioned by other reviewers. I also had a caffeine-less bancha, which is great BC I'm very sensitive to caffeine. I am glad to be able to order something to drink with my friends in the evening.

Finally, the experience is amazing because of the service provided. We were in a hurry as it was our last night in Helsinki and really wanted to experience this place. We rushed there with hardly enough time left. But we still managed to get our cakes and drinks and we were assured that we could take our time which was very sweet of her. I also bought some matcha powder and she did the best recommendation for me as a beginner even though it was past their closing time.
