Art Gate — Hotel in Tbilisi

i booked this hostel through booking dot com for couple of days. In booking dot com website check-in and check-out time isn't stated for this hostel, so i booked it since i arrived in tbilisi at 10.45am from batumi. i was tired from 7 hours bus ride, so i was expecting i can checked in easily. when i arrived in the hostel; i greeted the owner and smiled at him but the response was nothing but a look and i don't feel welcome vibe. so i told him i have a booking for couple of days and he answer me back with "and?!" what a pathetic answer to a question and at that time he has a lady visitor, instead of customer first he then keeps talking to his lady friend and not attending his customer, he told me to wait for an hour because he said people are still sleeping. but i see everyone is awake and there is an available bed. since in the lobby there is no chair to seat, i asked him if there is a common area for me to wait and he cannot even offer me a chair for an hour. if i didn't ask him for a chair he will leave me standing for an hour to wait. i went out and find another hostel nearby and i found one and the owner is super friendly and he accepted me immediately without any question. i came back to that hostel and took my things and told him i will cancel my stay. i offered him to pay the night since i am cancelling and he refused to accept it. and his tone of voice becomes nice since a few backpackers were out from the room listening and watching us. he then told me to click the no show in booking dot com instead of commenting bad about his behavior. i was really disappointed with the rude behavior of the owner of this hostel and i am swearing not to booked this property again whenever i come back to tbilisi. this guy is only nice to ladies and men will attest to it. really bad experience and this is first hostel i have stayed i experience such a manner. everything i see on the review of this hostel is fake and wrong based...

I had a very pleasant stay here. It is a cozy atmosphere, it is an incredible location, and I can't thank the owner, Alex, enough for his hospitality. While it may not be the fanciest or the most modern, it is a great deal and worth it. It is clean. The beds are comfy. The staff are nice. And they don't nickel and dime you for for everything. You ask for a towel, they give you a towel. You ask for help, they help. ||||There is a decent restaurant/art gallery below. ||||Also, it is super easy for the budget traveler to get there either from the airport or the train station. Either one is the #37 bus, although from the train station you can also take the Metro to Freedom Square. ||||Bottom line: Stay here. You can't find a...
