I’m a Ukrainian who has been living in Georgia for the past nine years and working in the hospitality industry. I've had the chance to visit many places across the country, but I’ve never encountered house wine priced at 120 GEL per liter—until now.
It’s truly disheartening. I deeply love this country and believe in its dignity and honesty. But when visitors are charged $100 for a ride from the airport that should cost 30 GEL, or when a café imposes such unreasonable prices, it sends a troubling message. It creates a feeling of lost trust and casts doubt on the future—for both locals and guests alike...
P.S. Good evening, There is no chance to answer, unfortunately, so I will continue in this review.
Are you sure about your calculation? 16 USD in total and 2 USD per person? There were 5 people, by the way, which is not that important actually.
Unfortunately we stayed in the Garden only, so had no chances to evaluate your house and museum, but maybe it's a good idea to charge for entrance to the museum separately to avoid the feeling of overrated prices?
Can I ask you also what was the reason of complimentary given wine bottle? Maybe that was a shame for the nonreasonable price?
And finally, of course, you can charge us as much as possible, there was no menu given in advance, so we only can accept it. But we also haven’t visited some posh Shardeni bar where the feeling of a tourist trap starts from the beginning, so we felt relaxed and happy really, and we were not checking on the menu, as house wine always means good quality for a reasonable price….
Anyway, you can find a lot reviews with the same points as mine, so maybe it was a sign not to fight with visitors, but give them open information and options in advance… maybe just telling that you have some exclusive and expensive wine and more simple and affordable, that could save your guests from uncomfortable and dossapointing end of the evening. Not all people who lives in Georgia can afford 120 gel per bottle of wine, you know the salaries better than me.
I have nothing against you, but for me that was very disappointing experience.
Best wishes to you...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Impulse, a delightful establishment in Georgia, and I must say it was a truly memorable experience. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for the rest of the evening.
The standout feature of Impulse was undoubtedly the impeccable service provided by our waitress, Nastya. Her attentiveness, knowledge, and friendly demeanor enhanced our dining experience to new heights. Nastya's passion for her job was evident as she expertly guided us through the menu, offering insightful recommendations and answering all our questions with a genuine smile.
The level of service we received was beyond exceptional. Nastya anticipated our needs and ensured that every detail was taken care of throughout the evening. From promptly refilling our glasses to ensuring that our meals were served just as we desired, she went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The ambiance of the restaurant was another highlight. The stylish and elegant decor, combined with soft lighting and tasteful background music, created a cozy and intimate atmosphere. Read moreTruth be told, it would be a stretch to call Impulse a genuine "wine bar". Although it brands itself as such, the wine list is, quite frankly, nominal at best. There are only a few basic wines to choose from, such as Kisi or Rkatsiteli for the whites and just one dry Saperavi for the reds. This limited selection was surprising, especially when you consider the steep prices, with a glass of even the most basic wine priced at 18-20 lari.
During our visit in early August, the staff was warm, friendly, and polite. Yet, despite the menu being concise enough to fit on a single page, our waitress struggled to guide us through it. What truly disappointed was the serving of a warm, non-chilled Kisi. White wine, served warm, tasted heavy, leading us to request ice – a rather peculiar oversight for any establishment.
However, it wasn’t all gloom. The interiors were genuinely remarkable. The cozy and charming courtyard was a highlight, adorned with tastefully designed details, capturing a picturesque atmosphere.
I came expecting a wine bar and left somewhat disillusioned. If you can look past the wine and take Impulse for what it is – a chic spot to enjoy a basic drink or two – then it might just be...
