Update:
(8 years ago) I love this place! You get counter service with wide choice of tasty Georgian dishes served up generously and charged by weight. I'm always amazed at how little I pay for a big plate of food. What I especially appreciate is the selection of fresh greens and veggies, which can be a little hard to find in Georgia. I like the outdoor table availability during good weather, too. I eat here at least once every time I come to Tbilisi.
(Today, 25 July 2025) It's 7 years since I was in Georgia, and this is the first place I'm eating on my return. Okay, in response to the reviews that complain the service is "rude," it helps to adjust expectations. If the girls at the counter aren't all warmth and smiles, neither are they rude or disrespectful. I had to rely mostly on their English, which met the need. They responded patiently to my questions about the food and served me what I wanted. I fumbled with my cash and got the correct change . . . with a small, quick smile.
And the food was delicious! I would have paid at least twice as much for the same amount and quantity anywhere nearby, and I enjoyed much more variety. This place is a Tbilisi treasure, and I'm thrilled it's still here after...
Read moreIf only everyone was Nino… This Georgian bistro has a pretty good selection of hot and cold food and breads. I’m a foreigner and was getting the usual unfriendly Georgian hospitality then ‘Nino’ walked in and the girl lit up with a massive smile and radiance and greeted her with a very warm…”NINO!!!”😊 Then turned back to me and yeah, it was a very different experience. I think I’m finally working this place out….Georgia that is. Although I’m Caucasian and look like them, because I’m not Georgian, about 80% of the time I experience some degree of negative attitude towards me, ranging from mild to extreme. It’s definitely a cultural thing but still, I don’t like it one little bit. Will I come back…maybe? The attitude wasn’t horrible, fairly mild really, but still not good enough…below par and therefore 2 stars it is. You can get pretty much the same food around the corner at Goodwill for half the price and you can eat it there or take it home. Everything in life is a choice and we cast a vote every time we...
Read moreThis review is based purely on the behavior of the staff especially the girl with pimples on her face. Her attitude is something else. She behaves like I’m begging her to feed me, or like I’ve walked into her personal restaurant uninvited. Not polite at all.
When I ask simple, normal questions like “How much is this?”, she reacts like I just ruined her day. The facial expressions, the annoyed tone, it’s all there. She speaks in a voice that’s just one step below yelling.
She will almost always increase the price on you. For a meal that I paid for 13 lari last time ,she charged me 22 lari. And then will tell you Only cash is accepted no cards. I think you guessed what she is doing that 💰
I know people in Tbilisi are generally not the warmest, but this girl? She took rudeness to another level. So...
