Unfortunately, my partner and I had a bad experience here. We booked 5 nights and left after the first. The room was noisy, there is a strange policy about groups having access to the breakfast before other guests (I was told by both managers that day ) and the reception/manager who I spoke to on the morning of 26.October had absolutely no sympathy or concern for the quality of our visit. First, the room on the street was very noisy. People were shouting and talking in front of the hostel until 3 am and even with the window closed it sounded like they were right outside. The next morning we told the "manager" that we wanted to switch rooms. We only had 3 hours of sleep, and it was very unpleasant for us. No other rooms, OK. Next, she told us that we weren't allowed to have breakfast until a large group had finished. Weird, but OK. I wanted to have coffee until we were able to get breakfast and she flat out refused. She told us we could buy coffee from the machine for 1 euro. Why would we do that when we are about to buy breakfast? Also, I just told her that we had only slept 3-4 hours, but she didn't care about that and told me that I am the one who needed to be understanding. Worst, when I went to sit down she gave me an incredulous look and shook her head at me as if I was the one being unreasonable. So, I went back up and asked her if there was someone else who I could speak to. This is when she became more confrontational with me, who hasn't had a decent nights sleep as a guest in their hostel. "Why? You can speak to me." I asked, "Is there a manager or someone who is able to be a little more courteous?"...."I am the manager," she said. So, I asked when I could speak to someone else, and she still wouldn't answer my question. All I wanted was a cup of coffee. I spoke to one of the women helping with the breakfast about when I could speak to someone else and the manager came out from behind the reception desk to interrupt our conversation. Finally, as I was sitting and waiting for my husband to check prices for rooms at hostels in the area, I could hear her complaining about me to another man at reception who showed up at some time. I went back later and spoke to someone else. She restated the policy about the coffee. still weird, but ok. Maybe under certain situations like this bend a little and let tired guests have a cup as a courtesy. TLDR: We had a bad nights sleep and then we were treated like WE were the problem. Noisy room, weird breakfast policy, and a hostile manager.

Senefelderstraße 3, 80336 München, Germany
I am currently staying at Jaeger’s Munich and checking out tomorrow (5th June). I couldn’t wait until the end of the stay to share my feedback, because the experience so far has been deeply disappointing.
❌ Major Issues Faced: Air Conditioning Not Working From the moment I arrived, the AC was not functional. The room was uncomfortably hot, and I had to open the window just to survive. When I raised the issue with the staff the next day, I was told the AC system has problems — with no resolution or compensation offered till today. No Hairdryer in Room There was no hairdryer provided, and no clear way to request one. Also, there’s no phone in the room to call reception, which is very inconvenient. Noise & Chaos The corridor was constantly noisy. Students in nearby rooms were yelling, fighting, and creating a ruckus late at night, disturbing my sleep. There was no enforcement of quiet hours or guest discipline. Poor Housekeeping • On Day 2, I returned to find my room hadn’t been cleaned. When I asked, I was told housekeeping might skip rooms if they’re busy preparing for new check-ins — which is unacceptable given the high price we paid. • Even after the room was cleaned on the following days, the bed was never fixed properly, and the blanket was always left in a messy state. Extremely unprofessional for a hotel claiming to be guest-focused. Unprofessional Maintenance During Breakfast One morning while guests were having breakfast, maintenance staff were fixing something in the ceiling. They made noise, didn’t apologize, and showed no concern for guest comfort. This shows a lack of basic courtesy and guest consideration.
✅ Positives: • The only highlight was the staff at reception: Miss Catalina and Tim. They were polite and professional and did their best within the limits of the management’s shortcomings.
💰 Overpriced:
We paid approximately €1200 for 4 nights — which is outrageous for the poor service and discomfort we experienced.
⸻
Recommendation to Other Guests:
Be extremely cautious before booking this hotel. The ratings you see online seem inaccurate or possibly paid — this is not a professional or guest-focused establishment.
I booked it through Booking.com trusting...

There are only 4 lockers in the 6-bed rooms. As a result, I had nowhere to store my luggage. I didn’t feel comfortable leaving the hostel, because I had no locker to store my valuables in and did not want have to bring all of my belongings out with me for my night in the town (I had a walk, meal and a football match planned). I paid €60 for a room where I don’t have a single safe place to store my items.
The guidance on the website and an email from Jaegers hostel literally says that you should bring your own 40mm padlock, so I have now wasted another €10 buying a padlock for a non-existent locker.
I asked at reception and the man said there was nothing he can do. I asked if I could have a different room where one of the lockers might be available. It seemed he didn’t believe me as he came up to the room to check and then left saying there’s nothing he can do. They offered me to put my things behind reception, however that is highly inconvenient. For example, if I wanted to store away my valuables whilst I went for a shower, it is completely impractical to put my stuff in the reception, go for a shower, and then go back down to reception to pick up my bags again.
I spoke to the manager who also didn’t see the problem and then stopped responding. I asked if I could move rooms to a room where a locker is available or if I could get a refund because I was outraged by this service and had no option but to stay in the room all evening, which ruined my one night here in Munich.
I really think there should be 6 lockers in the room as somebody I spoke to said another room had loads of lockers.
This hostel does not provide the promised basics listed on the website.
(Also the bunk beds are considerably low down so not even a child could sit up under it. Everyone in the room had to slither...
