LOCATION ONLY
Im not one to normally give bad reviews to businesses. However it truly was a bad experience.
As a business owner myself i know how damagimg bad reviews can be.
We stayed at this hotel as a finale to our 12 week beautiful holiday. I didnt book it, otherwise i would have read the reviews and looked into it. My cousin booked it for me as he said the location was great as i didnt know Athens myself. He said the pics looked great with Acropolis views and a huge balcony. I told him to book the best largest room making sure we had a large balcony and a view. We arrived exhausted and late after a full day of traveling. The poor reception man was really nice apologised and looked quite sincere. Telling us there was an error made and they had booked a single room thinking there was only one person not 2. I told him we booked and paid for the best largest room with a huge balcony overlooking the acropolis.
He said they were fully booked for tonight but would move us to our large best room we paid for in the morning first thing when it was available. I asked about the price difference. He said the owners would either give us a free breakfast or refund some of the price difference for the one night.
When he took us to the so called single room. We were shocked it was a shoe box. We felt so chlostrophobic it was tiny and horrible. We shared a single bed that was against the wall. But we had no other option but to stay there that night as it was so late.
In the morning i complained to the owners She moved us to the so called huge room we booked and paid for. Still horrible
2 single beds that squeaked so loud every time you turned. The floor wasnt clean and i asked the maid about it and showed her. She told me she left the door open for some fresh air so what some little bits of dust flew in. The so called view of the Acropolis from our balcony was the rock at the end of the Acropolis The beeakfast was shocking.except for the nice view and the nice garden. The juice was cordial, nothing nice about breakfast. Our shower floor was badly cracked. The carpets on the stairs were all ripped and their attitude really sucked. When we checked out i went to finalise the bill for our so called 2 breakfasts and i asked about how she would compensate us for having the wrong room on the first night.
She told me rudely that i already paid for the room with my visa and thats that.
Not even a coffee shouted for the error i was told i would be compensated for. No apology no remorse whatsoever. And demanded the whole 35 euro for the 2 shocking so called breakfasts there. Didnt even give me a receipt.
I would never stay there again even if it was free. The only good thing is its really a good location rigbt in the heart of beautiful plaka and close to the Acropolis.
Badly needs some serios renovations some serious refurbishing and some badly needed customer service skills and then it would be a great...
Read moreUnfortunately the room given to us looks like was in middle of renovation or not taken care off. I was highly disappointed with the room condition.|1. The door has legacy door locks with physical metal key, I had to call the hotel staff to open the door. They had to put WD40 to make it smooth.|2. The frame of the door from inside fell multiple times and once on my kid. The upper frame is missing the board. |3. The bathroom door never locks and handle was broken, i had to make it work for my stay. |4. The bathroom over all is fine and they are trying to upgrade, but the shower area needs major change. |5. Beds were decent, i won't say the worst I have stayed in. |6. ANTS ANTS and ANTS that was the biggest issues for me in the room, they were every where. In the bathrooms and room also. I woke up to see huge piles of ants near the dustbin and had to kill them with my slippers. |7. There is a balcony but it opens up to the house wall but not to the view. |8. I told three times during my stay to the staff about my room situation and condition but all 3 winked it away saying that they don't have the authority to change the room and the owner will take care of it. During my 3 days visit it was not taken care of , nor the owner even asked how they can make it better. ||I hope they take into consideration about my feedback. I rarely give such bad feedback, if I am giving 1 star rating, this tells that I was way over my saturation point. |||The best part is the view from the rooftop restaurant, where u can see the acropolis up close. Other then this the whole hotel situation was as let down for me. ||I will not recommend this hotel with families/kids. If you still want to be there , make sure they are clear and tell you exactly which room will be yours before check in. ||The rooms with the round door handle appear to be in the better condition i assume as i peeked when cleaning lady were doing there chores. Avoid the old legacy...
Read moreI will preface this with saying that I have been to Greece many times and have stayed in many different hotels and airbnbs. The good: This hotel is in a good location of Plaka, which offers many shops, and you’re walking distance to many of the attractions and must-do’s that Athens offers. The bad: Pretty much everything else. If you’re travelling with more than just yourself, don’t count on getting an extra room key, they do not allow more than one. I was with a party of 3 this time around and one of us had to go to sleep with the door unlocked as they would not give us another key (the doors do not lock automatically). The rooms are very small, and the “balcony” does not have any furniture. The wifi is non existent. I had to use my data the whole time. The air conditioning is also non existent. They state that they have it, however it does not work. This trip, I have been here over a month on different islands and cities, in different variants of accommodation: some old, some newer, however all of them had working air conditioning. Be prepared to sweat. Overall, there are many airbnbs and other hotels right in the same area that are very nice and either the same price as this hotel or lower, for better accommodation. I would recommend doing that over staying here. I’m only in the hotel room for a few hours at night to sleep as I’m exploring and doing things all day, however those few hours are painful...
