Feodorm is a perfect budget accommodation for the budget savvy traveler out there. The apartment is situated in District V of Budapest and is walking distance to most notable landmarks in the area.||||My friend and I booked for a twin room for 3 nights and 4 days. We were greeted by Hannah who is super friendly, accommodating and spoke really good English. She gave us tips on where to go and showed us around the apartment.||||The apartment is very clean. Our room was just enough with an attached spacious bathroom which is great based on European standards. Our room has a nice view of the St. Stephen's Basilica. So sleeping at night and waking up on the sight of one of the biggest church in Budapest is something to behold!||||Our beds were tiny though. I felt they were not appropriate for adults. But that's because I am accustomed to the bigger beds of hotels. The beds are soft though with satiny comforter and one big, square pillow.||||The room is equipped with a cool airconditioning unit which is a plus since when we visited, there seems to be a heat wave happening. The aircon is a welcome respite from the heat!||||Our toilet was well stocked. We were also told by Hannah to get our supplies if we need them from the kitchen cupboard.||||There is a communal kitchen space with a ref, dishwasher, sink, percolator and microwave that we can use. We can even take some of the cereals in the counter if we ever got hungry. ||||There is no reception area so the management coordinated with us closely few days before our arrival. Communicating with them was a breeze as they spoke very good English and answered all my questions and provided tips too. I already felt very welcomed through our emails.||||Feodorm Apartments is housed in a residential building in the corner street of Bajcsy Zs. utca. There is a bakery on the ground floor so as soon as we leave the apartment, the waft of freshly baked goodies perk up our mood. Nearby eateries can be found like the Kolbice (try their yummy sausages!) and Burger King just near the bus/metro stop (Arany Janos metro station). There are also many groceries and supermarkets nearby so you can buy your necessities if you wish.||||The highlight of this property is its location and I cannot stress that enough. Just a mere 5 mins. walk is the St. Stephen's Basilica. If you feel like walking around, you can also cross the Chain Bridge, visit the Parliament or walk towards the Nyugati Ter, one of the main train stations in Budapest.||||I will consider...
Read moreBudapest was our first stop in Europe and that made it more important that we communicated well with the hotel. Staff, Hanah, was very accessible and friendly. We emailed and whatsapp each other before we left Canada. We contacted her once we arrived the Budapest airport we whatsapp again for arrival time. Easily reached by local bus and metro all the way from the airport. It is right on top of a Metro station. While the entrance is on the main street, it can be easily missed since it is just part of a historic apartment building. There is a bakery on the street level and a money exchange just 5 minutes away. The setting makes you feel very local. The small convenient store nearby does not give you a lot of selection but good for emergency. ||||Hotel/hostel even provide self-serve free bread and spread but we didn't try. Internet is very slow and works better near the common kitchen. I would have given it a Five Star if not for that. Our room had a nice view of st Stephen church, which is...
Read moreOn Google and other websites this property is listed as Holiday apartments. Please don't be deceived by the title. This is nothing but a glorified hostel. The bed and room comfort are very low. If you manage to find it for a very low price book at it at your own risk. But even then I couldn't honestly recommend.||The staff are very friendly yes but this unfortunately doesn't change my overall experience. ||The issues are: very narrow and uncomfortable single bed; poor quality bedding unsuitable for summer; the AC can't be adjusted so you have to choose between OFF and very cold. I chose the latter and got a nasty cold. There is no receptionist after 6-7 PM. What happens if you need help? What if you get locked out or can't access your room?! ||If you look for a holiday apartment please compare the comfort and the prices with other properties. I found this property way overpriced for...
