This hotel is in a very convenient location to walk to all the main sites, shops, restaurants in central Ubud. On the weekend the traffic is very busy on Monkey Forest Road from all the day-trippers coming to Ubud but it wasn't as bad on week days. I had a room at the front of the property near reception and about 25m from the main road so the traffic is audible from the room but from about 6:30/7am the staff changing shift would talk quite loudly and that would also wake me up.||||The deluxe rooms sit at the back of the property beyond the pool and are probably a little quieter than the standard rooms.||||I stayed a few nights in a standard Balinese style room. The room is a decent size with a strangely large bathroom. The bathroom feels old and dated but was always clean. The shower is in the bath. You can't flush paper down the toilet here which takes a bit of getting used to. There were no problems with the toilet but the pipes under the bath made loud gurgling sounds at random times when it wasn't being used.||||The internet was generally reliable through the hotel but occasionally dropped out for a few minutes. It was good enough to use streaming. There is a TV in the room with 6 working channels in English. There was a slight musty smell to the room which must be from the humidity and lack of ventilation but it ||||The fridge in the room was actually cold (unlike many bar fridges in Bali that are just boxes that don't really cool anything. The aircon also worked really well. I liked the little terrace out the front of the room with a big drying rack for pool towels, swimwear etc. The carved Balinese door and 'window' (it has no light) are really pretty.||||The pool area is cool and shady for most of the day and quieter to sit at as is it further back in the property||||The breakfast (which was included with the room was also decent). Fruit, cereal, yoghurt, juice and tea plus a menu choice of eggs, nasi/mie goreng or pancakes. Staff are also friendly and really helpful but...
Read moreMe with my husband and child recently stayed at this hotel for two nights, and unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. The only positive aspect we can mention is its convenient location. However, the drawbacks we encountered greatly overshadowed any benefits. First and foremost, the exorbitant price we paid for a single night's stay was utterly unjustifiable. For a staggering 1.4 million IDR, per night i.e. 2.8 million for two nights stay, we expected top-notch service and amenities. Regrettably, the reality was quite the opposite. Basic services, like an intercom in the room, were glaringly absent, forcing us to make countless trips to the reception for even the simplest requests. This lack of convenience was an inconvenience we hadn't anticipated. The condition of the rooms was another significant letdown. Dampness permeated the atmosphere, leaving a musty odor that made the stay uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the pool was far from inviting, with murky water that made it seem neglected and unsanitary. Our interactions with the hotel staff, particularly the manager, further soured our stay. They displayed a complete lack of manners and were unhelpful when we needed assistance, especially during our initial confusion with the Balinese currency. Comparing our experience with other hotels in Ubud, it became evident that the exorbitant charges did not match the quality of service provided. We even spent a night at Jati Cottage, a much better property, which highlighted the stark contrast between a well-managed hotel and the disappointment we faced here. Overall, our stay was a disheartening and frustrating experience. We cannot recommend this hotel beyond a single star, solely due to its convenient location. If you seek a pleasant stay in Ubud, there are plenty of far superior options available that offer better services at more...
Read morePro's The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Location is perfect for walking around Ubud & only 10 mins away from Monkey Forest or the Palace. There's loads of restaurants & coffee shops within 2 mins in every direction. There's even a Starbucks directly across the road if you prefer it. Beds were super comfortable & the sheets were clean. Breakfast was good, particularly the omelette, which my wife said was as good as she'd had in any hotel. There are three different options 1) American Breakfast (bacon, eggs & toast) 2) Local Breakfast - rice or noodles & vegetables 3) Choice of pancake. We had the American & Local on the first day & then had the banana pancake. The pancake was tasty - but a bit doughy /underdone.
Con's Rooms & stairs needs to be cleaned better. As you can see from our pictures - there were multiple spider webs, bugs & bagworms (moths) that just needed to be hoovered up, but were not cleaned throughout. There was also a mouse head and accompanying insects on the stairs on the 1st day that was not swept away throughout our stay. WiFi is pretty poor. The electricity went once and the water twice during our 4 night stay and we saw mice/rats around the pool area on 2 separate occasions. The Aircon is pretty loud. The pro for the location means you will hear music/noise from surrounding restaurants/bars, but nothing is open late, so it shouldn't disturb your sleep unless you go to bed super early.
Overall, I think the rooms need some TLC, so I don't think I would stay here again. It wasn't worth what we...
