I am not sure where to begin but this was the worst experience we have had in about 3 months of traveling. I contacted the host via booking to enquire about earlier check in, he was kind to let us have the room from 12 when we were arriving (normal check in was at 2pm). Unfortunately as we arrived we were told by the staff that the room wouldn’t be ready until 5 pm as they agreed to rent it out late to other guests. We were told that this was due to lack of communication and Wayan (person looking after the property) suggested we could go somewhere else!? (they were probably overbooked and this was an easy way out for them). Since we didn’t want to wait around 5 hours we were offered a room in another nearby guesthouse Puri Wisnu and promised to get a double room the following day. The room we got seemed like an ok solution at first as we didn’t want to move again and enjoy our time in Ubud. Unfortunately it was not clean, smelled of damp and was a long way from pool - one of the main reasons we booked the guesthouse in the first place. After an afternoon out we returned to find a twin room was finally available and opted to take it in the meantime until we get the double next day. Next morning we were told the room promised was no longer available. It became clear that there was something really weird going on as neither Wayan nor his wife would look us in the eye as they gave us the news. We left for breakfast and decided to find an alternative accomodation despite having to move our things for the 3rd time in 24 h. Weirdly enough Wayan had our bill ready for only one day even though we were supposed to stay for two nights when we let them know we wanted to leave earlier. As we were moving out Wayans wife told us in accusatory voice “that thanks to us she had to clean the room twice”. Funnily enough there were already other people waiting to get in the room... on another note I got to see how the room was cleaned... the floor was swept but the sheets weren’t changed and only the beds were made. I would imagine it’s normal practice so if you don’t want to sleep in other people’s sheets stay away from that place. The bathroom was really quite dirty and the fittings need replacing. The room itself and the pool area were nice but it’s a shame we didn’t got to enjoy it due to the situation explained above. Never experienced being strung along like that and the hostility that accompanied it from...

I'm not too sure how much people have been paid to leave their comments. I moved from the top floor after two nights to the bottom floor as I wanted to extend my stay. The top floor was OK, paint falling off the wall but the bathroom and balcony made up for this being big but I can't live in the bathroom. Lizards in the room every night, 2-4 running around the walls. Terrifying. I had 2/3 hours sleep a night. Until this happend
I moved into the room next to the pool on the third night (the one everybody says is nice). The bath was covered in mould and falling apart. I should have not accepted when I was shown it, but it was late and dark.
The shower didn't work, there was mould everywhere, paint falling from the walls due to mould. The fan is on its last hinges.
When I returned at night on the last evening there was the BIGGEST lizard in the room, the biggest I've seen in Indonesia and I had to leave in the middle of the night (1am) and drive around Ubud until the morning (7am) when the owner came to help me get my bags. The comment was "It's ok, it won't bite". Not what you want to hear
All the doors are not sealed so lizards and animals crawl in from under the door (A simple draft excluder on all doors and frames would solve this).
Not to mention, there are currently building works that start around 7.30/8am (BANG, BANG, BANG). So sleep is limited.
The monkeys get chased away with a catapult in the morning by staff, not nice to watch.
All in all, the worst stay in Ubud. Stay somewhere else. Pictures attached of the downstairs room. I am not lying.
Maybe close the homestay, rebuild and cover all the above issues, it is unliveable. So disappointed
The owner was expectant of me to pay for the last night...
Read moreSadly we didn’t have a good stay unlike many other guests . Unfortunately our room was very very dirty - dirty/stained bed sheets (a yellow and blood stained mark) which smelt unwashed, dirty yellow marks dripped all over the floor , dirty bathroom and marks on the walls , we didn’t even want to shower or brush our teeth in there , let alone touch the bath.||||Upon checking in we were in a rush to get out and sightsee , so dropped off bags and went , it wasn’t until we returned late after dinner and drinks we noticed how dirty the bed and place was and it was far too late to find staff , we left the next day having not been able to sleep in the room .||||I must say that we have and do stay in £2/£3 a night hostels all over Asia , so we were not expecting 5* luxury , but this was just not nice . I’m sorry to be leaving this review , but when lying in the bed (piece of foam) there I was just wishing there’d been a review like this so we’d have known . It’s a nice property in a good location , and staff seemed nice , but sadly we could not stay another night in this room :(||||On a side note - I will also add (not fault of property) but for other travellers - my bank card was cloned from the ATM within the shop on the right up the path from the property , so please do not use . Ubud was not in our favour...
