Bracearía Auditore presents itself with a beautiful atmosphere where people can sit outside and participate in beautiful conversations over their meals. The staff was amazingly welcoming, and determined to give us the best experience possible. But what’s most important is the food, and I have many comments about that in the following points.
We came in as a big group of 7, and the staff managed to sit us down at an appropriate time upon arrival. For the sides we got the bruschetta and some roasted potatoes, they were both really good. More specifically the potatoes were well roasted, and the bruschetta was well composed yet not the best I have tried in Florence. Both me and my friend got the gnocchi di pesto, and we did not agree on how we feel about it, as I found it a bit lacking in flavor. Though the pieces of gnocchi themselves were well made, perfectly round and soft. The shrimp risotto came with a good portion and ratio of risotto to shrimp. Though it lacked a very important citrus flavor to balance out the shrimp flavor, although when we added a dash of lemon it became the perfect equilibrium. The classic lasagna was scrumptious, with the perfect ratio of beef to pasta and it was perfectly moist which is not very frequent for some reason. The asparagus risotto was not my favorite, though that’s a personal preference. It was creamy and well seasoned though of course the asparagus was earthy which is only natural. My friends ordered the mushroom and truffle pasta which does not exist on the menu any longer but they made arrangements to make it possible to order, which was lovely. Though after tasting it I wasn’t very convinced by it, as the taste of truffle was hardly noticeable and it was a bit dry. All in all, the meal was okay for the prices, and the atmosphere was amazing for hanging out with friends. I would recommend it specifically for the prawn risotto. I would typically rate this restaurant a 3.5 out of 5 but that isn’t possible so I...
Read moreIt was a very hot day and we did not plan to eat outdoors, but the first place we found that met our dietary restrictions was outdoors under a series of tents, and it looked cool enough so we went with it. And in the end, it was the best meal we had collectively had as a family in ages. I talked the kids into trying cacio e pepe, and it is now their favorite and I'm going to have to figure out how to somehow reproduce this dish at home. I had gnocchi with pesto and tomatoes, and it was perfect. I maybe would have been happier with another pasta instead of gnocchi, but for a gnocchi dish it could not have been better, with a healthy amount of pesto (and I did not have an allergic reaction even though I assume pine nuts were in it). Wife had the same dish made with gluten-free penne. That was probably the right pasta! They even almost brought us a couple of slices of cheesecake meant for another table, and we were too full to steal the cake but it looked amazing too. Anyway we all said it was fantastic and that so rarely happens, especially with my picky younger son. I'd bring them back every day if we hadn't been on a vacation across the ocean from home. So very strongly...
Read moreFirst off, the food was great. The real issue is with the horrific service. We sat down, and the waiter asked us for our choices. As soon as we said we are neither drinking anything nor taking appetizers (because we were in a rush and wanted to only order mains), their attitude completely changed!
The waiter brought a water bottle, but did not pour. He then brought a bread basket, but did not bring any small plates. I had to ask for plates separately. This is a convention in Italy that you get a small plate to pour olive oil/balsamico onto so you can eat bread with it. I have been to 10 different cities in Italy but never have encountered such rude and horrible service. Waiters were always next to you and it feels like you're being watched. When we went to pay at the cashier, the person was not welcoming or friendly at all and had a very standoffish attitude.
Please check other reviews, a lot of people are complaining about customer service and the owners have a habit of attacking google reviewers! For 20e pastas, go to the million other restaurants in Florence and do not waste...
