HOTEL ROMA55 is a very BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. We booked a triple room in the hotel in Via della Vite, Rome three months ago which is very central and instead, after making us pay immediately for a four star hotel, they put us in an old building five blocks away with hardly any facilities as described in our booking, like no wardrobe, no telephone, no coffee machine, the quilts consisted of a brown blanket with a quilt cover, no hot water in the shower ... but instead, we were given an old room which was all MOULDY with the parquet all stained with mould and stinking of HUMIDITY , and the parquet flooring all sticking out of place. The worst part of the room there was a rug covering a big black patch of mould ... VERY TOXIC ... We walked back to the hotel which is a good 7 mins away and the receptionists were all very RUDE and NOT HELPFUL at all. We complained that this room is not what we booked for at the price of a four star hotel but definitely this room they gave us is not fit for even a one star hotel and not fit for anyone to stay in as it is very unhealthy in that state. We showed them the picture of the room we had booked for but the receptionist told us that the picture was only for marketing the hotel... Disgusting ... So we were TRICKED ....!!! We took photos of the room and the mould all over the room but the receptionist even refused to look at the photos and told us '' I DON'T CARE'' They were very RUDE and were even provoking us telling us to leave and that they would not even change the room and give us back our money to find another alternative hotel. They finally changed it the following day and gave it to us late afternoon, still in the annex old building but a room which was at least in a better state.... They ruined our two day stay in Rome and we will never forget this horrible experience. I suggest that before paying for your room to first see it to avoid Disappointments.... BUT NEVER AGAIN IN THIS SO CALLED FOUR STAR HOTEL ROMA55 which is definitely not even a two star ...!!!! HIGHLY NOT...

We paid over 600€ for two nights at this hotel in Rome, and although we know accommodation in the city is expensive, the price-quality ratio was extremely poor.
One of the biggest issues was the parking. The hotel does not have parking onsite, and this wasn’t clearly explained on their website. The parking lot is over 2 km away from the hotel, more than 10 minutes walking, and about 14 minutes by car due to traffic and restricted access in the area. With the amount of luggage we had, walking that distance wasn’t an option, and the hotel staff only suggested taking a taxi, which took even longer due to the traffic. This information should be clearly stated on their website, especially for tourists who are unfamiliar with the area and need to plan accordingly.
Before arriving, I contacted the hotel, and Mario responded through Booking, telling us that it was not possible to cancel the reservation because of their cancellation policy, even though we had booked on the same day. I called the hotel immediately after making the reservation, but they refused to cancel. We couldn’t afford to lose that much money for just two nights in Rome, which made the stay extremely stressful.
The room was another letdown. It was extremely small and located in a different building from the main hotel, meaning we had to go back and forth for check-in and check-out. The walls were so thin we could hear every noise, especially the elevator. The bathroom lacked basic amenities—there was no shampoo in the dispenser, and it wasn’t refilled during our stay.
Breakfast was also a disappointment. On the second day, several items were clearly leftovers from the previous day, dry and inedible.
Overall, this was a very stressful and disappointing experience. For the price we paid, the service and accommodations were absolutely not worth it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially given the lack of clear information on...
Read moreThrough bookings.com, we booked this “four star hotel” for convenience and comfort for our first trip to Rome at the great expense of €900+ for 4 nights. Once we had passed the free cancellation date/timeline, we received an email along with photos confirming our room in the “Annex Building” which was on the fourth floor of an apartment block 3 streets away from the actual hotel and the apartment block was shared with other occupants/businesses. ||We emailed the hotel describing our great disappointment that we had not booked a room in the “annex building” and that we had chose a double room in the hotel. The hotel argued we had booked a room with the annex building in the description however this is not true. The hotel stated in the email that we could upgrade our room to stay in the hotel at the expense of €250. However, on arrival at the hotel, the receptionist stated the extra expense to upgrade is €250 PER night leaving our total bill to €1900+ for four nights. ||We were brought to our room in the annex building in a buggy with our bags in an open back of the buggy and at risk to be taken on transfer. ||When we arrived to the “Annex building” a very old elevator took us to the fourth floor that was clearly very unclean and stains on the carpet in the communal areas. |Upon entering the room, the room did not correlate to the room we had booked. |After the first night, housekeeping did not come to tidy the room however did arrive once requested. Our bed linen had not been changed throughout the full trip and water was NOT replenished each day. ||This hotel is advertising a beautiful four star hotel however is assigning rooms in a random building that is more like a basic Airbnb. ||I am not a person to normally write reviews however I felt obliged to alert people as I do not want anyone else to have the experience I had on their first...
