Let me start by saying “compliments to the chef”… the food here was impeccable. This was our first visit to this restaurant. The ambience was upscale, and by the time we left at 9:00 pm the place was still pretty full.

But… the servers at this place are a hapless group of idiots. So no matter whether there is a Michelin-level chef or jiffy pop served in disposable tin foil containers - I will never return.

For instance:

Strike 1. We shared with the waiter (in our party of 8) that this guest had an allergy - nuts and seeds, specifically. Recognizing English would be a second language to the wait staff, we even shared a card provided by our physician listing the allergies in English and Italian. A cheeseburger was ordered and showed up with a sesame seed bun. What a bargain for €20… a hamburger patty and fries.

Strike 2. We all received our food… even the allergy-laden burger. One of our guest ordered gnocchi. When it arrived- literally 15 minutes after everyone else received their food, needless to say it was frustrating. Strike 3. We ordered wine, cokes, and two bottles of still/flat water for the table… which came out of a tap (albeit perhaps “their” filtration system) which we paid €8 a bottle. During the ensuing 15 minutes after our food was delivered - whilst our guest awaited her gnocchi - the waitstaff had vanished. I finally went to the bar to retrieve another bottle of “filtered” water. Even the bartender said “oh we can provide self-service” with a smile.

Sorry I’ve traveled to Europe 15+ times and never have I seen such an incompetent, cadre of jesters masquerading as wait staff.

Zero pride, zero accountability. But heh, the food...

Second edit: this owner is a clown and deserves no patronage. See his reply to this very post and look no further…

Edit: After complaining about the quality of the steak, it was comped. This much was appreciated greatly, as perhaps the chef was just having an off night. For this reason, I give more credit to our maitre’d for his service.

Would not recommend eating here at all. I suspect they do not receive very many repeat clientele, benefitting from being near the transit station and attracting tourists.

Ordered a 17 euro chicken Caesar salad, which had approximately a quarter of a breast of chicken in it—the ‘bread’ that comes with it, are actually the croutons in the salad, misleadingly named. Another at my table ordered the bacon pecorino pasta, which, while having an acceptable amount of bacon, was completely raw and inedible. She decided to eat around it. A steak was ordered, but terribly cooked, with no crust, yet also tough to chew and a large grey band. When using the restroom, you can hear the chef audibly yelling in the kitchen.

This is a low tier restaurant masquerading as fine dining with absurd pricing and outdoor seating next to speedy traffic. Avoid at all costs.

After checking other reviews, the owner himself has replied calling negative reviewers idiots! Unacceptable and unprofessional behavior and lack of...

Really disappointed. We went on new years eve. After we were seated it was as if we were forgotten about. First the welcome drinks took over 15 minutes to arrive while other couples who came in after us received them right away. Then after another 15 or so, the waiter finally came over and asked us what we would like despite providing no menu to us beforehand. Due to the lack of menu we asked what was there to choose from. After he quickly rushed through the options for the starter and main meal we had to ask for more information. What did "fish and meat" mean? What kind of meat? The lack of information and rush of it was shocking especially considering it was based on a set menu. After ordering our appetizers (out of two options) we were then provided the wrong food. Then an hour later our main meal came out. We asked for the beef to be medium. My husband who usually loves his beef medium-rare was even put off with how little it was cooked and we could not finish the meals. Not once were we asked if we wanted the table bread or more drinks. We had to continuously try to flag them down to receive anything. Finally once the bill was requested they gave us another tables bill. Then when it was finally corrected the price was incorrect and much higher from what was advertised. Overall a very...

My family and I had our last meal of our Rome Vacation at Diadema with Alfredo as our server and our only regret is not having every meal here during our stay. The hospitality is unmatched, the food was truly divine and the Montepulciano wine tied it all together. However, the true gem of this restaurant is Alfredo. We walked by this place almost every day and Alfredo was a kind and friendly face on the streets of Rome. Always smiling and engaging in quick conversation. He was so memorable that we HAD to try his place at least once. And it was UNBELIEVABLE. And to end the evening, Alfredo brought us a special lemon sorbet with Sambuca as a treat to us and our time in Italy. We are so charmed and so grateful to have ended our trip here by chance and by persuasion of the BEST ALFREDO IN ROME. Ciao, my friend. We will see you again.

I wouldn’t recommend dining at Diadema Restaurant & Bar. The food was incredibly underwhelming – the pasta was watery and bland, and the pizza was nothing more than a slosh of cheese and tomato sauce. It lacked any authentic Italian flavour or care in presentation. If you’re looking for real Italian food, do your research beforehand. I highly recommend trying Trattoria Valentino just down the road instead – a much better experience. On a more positive note, the staff were friendly and the cocktails were enjoyable. However, I found the pushiness around tipping at the end a bit uncomfortable, especially considering the food quality. Prices are steep for what you get – definitely not worth the money. Overall, skip this one. There are far better options nearby & in Trastavere.

Absolutely recommended. Our group got real tired from looking for a salad bar that turned out to be closed. A few streets later we encountered this gem, a nice Italian restaurant. We got amazingly quick service and man, did the food look and taste good. Same goes for their Chardonnay. Needless to say, after our stop at the Diadema Restaurant we went back on the Roman streets almost feeling reborn, heading back to our main group in a happy mood. This restaurant offers great food and drinks, along with fast service. It's not the cheapest restaurant around, but I'm sure you'll too say it's worth the extra euro. Great place, highly recommended.
