I booked this accommodation in September 2024 for my wife’s 40th birthday, planning to fly out on the morning of our stay. However, life took an unexpected and heartbreaking turn when my sister’s health deteriorated rapidly due to cancer, and she sadly passed away on 10th March.
Throughout this difficult time, I kept the hotel informed, letting them know of my situation. I confirmed that I still intended to attend but was understandably anxious about funeral arrangements. Unfortunately, we had to wait 10 days for the funeral to be scheduled, with the only available date being 28th March—just one day after we were meant to fly out.
On 10th March, a full 17 days before our scheduled arrival, I informed the hotel of the funeral date and asked if they could offer either a refund or a date change, as I was still keen to visit and celebrate my wife’s birthday as originally planned. Their response was nothing short of appalling—zero empathy, zero understanding, and a blunt refusal to issue any form of refund, even after I offered to provide a death certificate as proof.
I made multiple attempts to change the date, and they initially refused outright. It was only after Booking.com intervened that they reluctantly agreed but demanded an additional £1,000—on top of the €404 I had already paid. This was an outrageous and completely unjustified charge, especially given the circumstances. Even Booking.com’s customer service team was shocked by the hotel's unwillingness to be reasonable, and all communication was recorded for reference.
A business's true character is shown not when things go smoothly, but when challenges arise. This hotel failed miserably. Their complete lack of compassion, unwillingness to help, and blatant prioritisation of profit over people were beyond disappointing. Given the time between my request and the booking, they could have easily resold the room, yet they refused to show any decency. The added stress of rebooking flights and handling everything else during an already devastating time made this experience even worse.
I wouldn’t consider staying here again, even if someone paid me to. If you’re looking for a place that values its guests as human beings, I strongly advise you to...
Read moreWe booked this hotel for my boyfriends birthday and Valentines. It was absolutely lovely, the bedroom, jacuzzi, the staff- all lovely and just what we had expected from seeing the amazing pictures of this place!!!! We really wanted to give this place 5/5 but there were a few little things preventing that, that I hope the hotel will take onboard and possibly improve on as I realise it did only recently open for business. ||||1 There was hardly any space to put your clothes. We did get extra hangers but more are needed and also another cupboard or two. The rooms are lovely and spacious but there was so many places where they was a table but with no drawers underneath it (next to the bed, the table in front of the tv) ||||2 When we arrived we noticed a dirty mark on the small bed spread on the end.... Definitely hadn't been checked before arrival and sadly the mark stayed there all week even tho we tried to leave the mark out on show so the house maid may see this... ||||3 The shower gel/shampoo was half empty on arrival. I know its good to preserve this but as a 5* feel place I feel we should of had fresh ones. ||||4 When you get out the shower or the Jacuzzi it is SOOOOOO slippy!!!!!!!!! ||||5 No complimentary water provided or tea only coffee... Just small things but could be improved on, ||||6 THE DAMP- WOW after being in the shower the whole room steams up- you can see damp starting already under the window sill. This is going to cause a huge problem in this place. You could smell it when you came back in and our clothes, bedding and papers were all wet. ||||7 The sheet doesn't fir the bed :/ ||||These seem big things but we did really enjoy our stay and would recommend it to anyone considering it!!!!! It just needs a few small improvements! The jacuzzi is...
Read moreThis hotel is beautiful! It was my first visit to Rome and the staff at the hotel were welcoming and helpful. Giada there is so lovely and made my stay feel like a home away from home. She also gave me a map to help me get aroundand pointed out the best areas to go to eat. ||||The rooms themselves are spotlessly clean, decorated beautifully and so well equipped. The jacquzzi suite I stayed in was amazing. The beds are comfortable, there is a coffee machine with 2 espressos left everyday as well as prosecco and waters added to your mini bar.||All mod cons are available, wifi just for your room, Netflix, air conditioning and heating, rain fall shower as well as Jacuzzi bath and mood lighting in the marble bathroom.||||The hotel itself is so pretty and very quiet. It's near to restaurants, designer shopping and 15 mins walk away from the Spanish steps, Vila borghese and also the Trevi Fountain. The hotel is quiet as it only has a few rooms making it feel boutique and private. ||||The hotel doesn't have breakfast service available here but is next to a typical Roman coffee shop that serves breakfast early, drinks sandwiches and the best cake at very reasonable proceprices plus is open till 8.30pm.||||The building itself is opposite the art college on Via di Ripetta with no signs and is situated within a beautiful old building. It doesn't look like your typical tourist hotel but feels like the best kept secret in Rome. A really lovely place to stay I highly recommend it for solo travellers, couples or those looking to indulge themselves...
