We visited Venice during 23-26 September 2017 and stayed at this hotel 3 nights. Here is our impression:|- modest hotel, old style (classic) furniture and design, but this makes a pleasant atmosphere, and it is clean|- the staff is nice, it is a family business; Alessandro, the man at reception is kind, there is also his father there. One of the cleaning lady Nella is very nice and hardworking (she is from Moldova)|- the location is very good, about 8-10 min from the central bus/train station|- breakfast was included (from 8 to 10 am), and it was sufficient and diverse, but the same everyday (yogurt, cupcakes, cornflakes, milk, juice, bread, butter, gem, nutella, philadelphia cheese, coffee/tea)|- we stayed at the 2-nd floor, the wifi connection was rather poor in the room, we had to stay in the hall or go at reception for better connection|- generally, we booked a lower budget room, with bathroom and wc in the hall, but this was not a problem, since the wc was near our room and practically only we used it; but the shower was at 1-st floor where the reception is, and it was a bit uncomfortable when we went to shower and there were guests at reception, but still that was ok (during 3 days I have not seen anyone using it); I guess most of the rooms had bathrooms; ||Overall, we were very satisfied with this hotel, very reasonable price for such a good location and conditions (we booked about 4 months in advance and payed 75€/ night).||I recommend...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights in August 2018. Our room (family of 3, double plus single bed and separate shower/toilet) was clean, reasonably sized for Venice, and the shower/bathroom also clean. The noise at the front of the hotel was intrusive at night, especially if we had the windows open - and we did because we couldn't get the air con to work. But the people talking at the restaurant in the lovely square outside did add to the atmosphere and ambience. If you stay out late it may be less of an issue. The proprietor was very helpful with information, and made an effort to assist us with our inquiries. My daughter would have liked a small fridge to keep her water cool. I would have liked that too, but not for water... Many other reviewers have said that the location is excellent and we agree - minutes from the main train station, a little longer from the Piazzale Roma bus station. But we researched Google maps and there is a ferry stop (Guglie) around 5 minutes away if you come via Alilaguna water bus from the airport. And the vaporetti also stop close by, Guglie stop is nearest. Plenty of choices of nearby restaurants and cafes/bars, plus a couple of good Spar supermarkets within 10 minutes walk, and a COOP supermarket around 15 minutes walk heading towards Rialto. I'd happily go back despite no fridge and no air-con!. Thanks for our...
Read moreIt was the cheapest hotel for us and near the center which was good. It was pretty old inside, no elevator which was very difficult when our luggages were very heavy, luckily the owner helped us bring them up and down when we were leaving. The owner was pretty nice though we asked not to clean our room (which he still did...). Also no air conditioning nor a fan (the ceiling fan did not work at all) and it was so hot, we had some trouble sleeping because it was impossible, also someone had their TV really loud till 2-3am.. We had one of the only room with a balcony which was pretty nice and cute, and also the only room with a private bathroom, it was a bit small and the toilet seat kept on sliding to the side which was annoying. It's written on the Booking website that we could leave our luggages there until we can get them back but when we asked, the owner kind of reprimanded us because other people already left their stuff there and there was almost no place left for our. I mean if you're going to get mad for that don't say people can leave their stuff then.. Other than that it was okay? The bed was really hard but my partner actually...
