DONT EVER TRY THIS RESTAURANT UNLESS YOU WANT TO RUIN A LOVELY DAY. We booked a table the day before with my fiancé on the fork and were both looking forward to try it. We were having a lovely day and showed up early , well received by a waitress. Once we were well installed, looked at the menu and ordered 3 meals, the waitress came back 5 minutes later to tell me “the owner cannot accept you” with absolutely no explanation. At first I thought I misunderstood her English. I asked why but she didn’t have a response. I asked to tell the “owner” to meet me. The atmosphere was very awkward and became even stranger when I heard the owner yell “NO NO NO” to my request from the kitchen ???! He was staring at me very badly. I decided to ask him directly why we were being kicked out of his restaurant when we have been nothing else but polite. After playing hide and seek in the kitchen, he finally decided to come out. Which was a waste of my time … I was in front of a very mean, impolite, rude and antipathetic man who couldn’t even look in the eyes but had the audacity to tell : I don’t receive poor people. (Very funny knowing that my fiancé is a neurologist and that I am an executive in the pharmaceutical industry but … let’s move on). Oh he might have think that since we unfortunately booked on the fork which stated that there was a -50% discount ? But then remove your restaurant from the app or just warn the clients that you don’t accept the discount ? Or because even if we’re French he was racist of our North African origins ? I guess we’ll never know. But what I do Know is that I would never recommend this restaurant even to my worst enemy. The funny part is that there were only 2 clients but the poor man thinks he can select his client as he is a freakin Michelin or something (which for the record receive us very well when we eat there but that is the bare minimum when you know how to do your job).He ruined a part of our evening. Fortunately we found another restaurant quickly soooo much better and the staff were lovely. I can’t help but think to this poor waitress so ashamed of her boss” attitude. Dear owner, please change your Career plan, you are clearly not done...
Read moreThe restaurant doesn't have air conditioning, it was 32 degree outside! I ordered a San Peter fish, the cooking was ok, but with crispy breaded around, a little weird for me, I don't think the fish was fresh. At last, we wanted some dessert, the server brought us another menu that we didn't see before. Haven been told the tiramisu was the only home maded dessert, I've ordered it. First, the cup was very small, and it was just ordinary! Finally, when I checked the bill, I was surprised to find out been charged dessert with full price instead of 50% discount with my reservation Fork. My boyfriend went to argue with the owner, but he told us that he can do what he want because he is the owner, and his server has already told us about the dessert. But we didn't hear anything about the dessert not been count in 50% discount at all! But the owner had a rude altitude, he told us to pay and go away!
The most ridiculous thing is that the day after, I was not been recognized present in the restaurant in the Fork! Just like I've cancelled the reservation! Fortunately, I have kept the receipt! Afterall, the discount was not a big deal, but we felt like been treated like cheater for food and drink, and been lied about the discount and in the Fork! I have never been humiliated like this before in a restaurant! And for two days, the restaurant kept sending me notification not been presented, then my review in the Fork disappeared! Now I know why this restaurant can have 9.0 note in the Fork, by erasing the reviews he don't like!
At last but not least, when I saw the response of the owner to my boyfriend in Google, I was shocked about his disrespectful for women and racist! What he cares is only the money in your pocket, your sexe and your race!
It was an awfully experience, and I will not recommend this restaurant at all for...
Read moreA phenomenal dining experience. We are visiting Venezia for the first time and are using TheFork app to find good local ristoranti. Punto G came up as one of these places and, with a sizeable discount from TheFork, seemed too good to pass up.
We arrived and greeted the cameriere with broken Italian, but he was very nice about it. We were quickly brought to a table and given local recommendations and wine selections. We dined on the baccalà mantecato, insulate caprese con bufala, bigole alle seppie in nero, ravioli di patate con salsa ai funghi e tartufo nero, and the seppie in nero con polenta, and capped off la cena with a caffè corretto.
This truly was an incredible first experience in Venizia. Our cameriere was kind, attentive, and quick to offer suggestions. The food was out of this world. I am a foodie and have had my fair share of meals across the world, but this easily tops my list. The pasta tasted fresh and the seppie in nero was seasoned perfectly. The cuttlefish itself was tender and flavorful, combining the best parts of squid and lobster into one, delicious black meal. The baccalà and the caprese salad were also very, very good.
I highly recommend this ristorante to anyone who wishes to immerse themselves in Venizian culture by getting to know the local flavor. Even without the discount, the pricing was very affordable for the portion sizes that were given. Fenomenale!...
