One of the reception lady is so rude. So I booked in Hotel Florida, but we have to go to Hotel Agli Artisti for check in as there's no receptionist in Hotel Florida. Hotel Florida looks so old and dark like you were transported back in the 1800s. When we arrived in Hotel Agli Artisti for checkin I was told by one of the lady receptionist that I have to sign a pre approval paper. Which never happened in any hotel I've been in. I don't understand why I have to sign so I asked what is that for? Then she said something in Italian to one of the other lady, it sound like about why I don't sign it's just signing. Then we waited for our check-in time as we were early. She gave me the key and gave instructions on how to find the room. I booked in Hotel Florida so I know my Hotel Florida. We went out of Hotel Agli Artisti and went out to Hotel Florida and the cleaning lady told us that our hotel is Hotel Agli Artisti not Hotel Florida. So we went back to Hotel Agli Artisti again, I told the reception lady that I booked in Hotel Florida not Hotel Agli Artisti, then she said something again in Italian to one of her colleague, which is very rude. Why you don't talk to us rather than talk to your colleague. If she would have told us that we will be transferred to Hotel Agli Artisti from Hotel Florida then it would be clearer. The room smells bleach aka Zonrox. At night since I need a vacuum cleaner for my vacuum bag, I asked the old lady in the reception if I can borrow a vacuum cleaner, she said theres a law that doesn't allow for guests to barrow vacuum cleaner. Which is weird because I had no problem borrowing in our hotel in Florence. She said if I want, I have to bring down my bag and she has to vacuum it by herself, just to avoid further discussion I just brought my bag down to the reception, then she asked me to vacuum it. Thank God we only booked for 1 night. When we check out, we were greeted by the nice cleaning lady in the reception who knows how to...
Read moreI probably wouldn’t stay here again, it was really awkward checking in and leaving our bags in a different hotel with tonnes of other peoples luggage, it was at the back of the hotel but wasn’t monitored, anyone could just go into the room and get the luggage which is worrying. Checking out was also a nightmare and nearly took an hour just to hand our key in. I think this is because the hotel we checked in at also does the same for other hotels not just for hotel Florida. The room was ok, it was quite small and a strange yellow colour and had windows that didn’t open. Good things about the room is that it was very clean and had aircon with a nice shower/bathroom. It’s very close to the boat and train station which made getting around very easy. I felt terrible for the receptionist working there as many people had problems checking in but all the workers were lovely. What I didn’t understand was that there was a check in desk when we arrived at hotel Florida so why do we have to go to a different hotel to get our keys? When we left we were told to check out at 11 so we got to the other hotel at 10:45 and nearly missed our boat back to the airport as we didn’t get spoken to until 11:40 and our boat arrived at 12 but came ten minuets early. I know the staff aren’t at fault for this but I believe this process could be so much easier if they had more people at the desk as it was just one person there dealing with all these guests. Not to mention in the picture, this was about 30 minuets in, the queue led to outside the hotel where people where people had to wait with their suitcases in the hot weather, including my younger sister who I came with who had to wait outside with our luggage as she couldn’t wait inside as it was so crowded. The trip was good but this was the only bad thing about it. We arrived at 11 and couldn’t check in until 3 which is fine but didn’t feel safe leaving our bags...
Read moreWORST HOTEL IN VENICE. I am incredibly upset by the hostile response I received from Hotel Florida, which is managed by Hotel Agli Artisti, which is 100m down the lane. Firstly, on my booking, there was no mention of any City Tax to be paid on arrival (which is highly unusual for Booking.com). Secondly, there was no mention on my booking that Hotel Florida would be locked and I needed to go to Hotel Agli Artisti to check in. When I checked in, I was required to pay €3.50 for City Tax. I later came back to query this charge because my booking stated that all taxes and charges were included in my booking. That is when the receptionist named Irene became hostile, arrogant and completely horrible. She would not look at my booking details that stated that if I did not turn up, I would be charged €79. I was charged €81.31 on 30 March 2024, which is a difference of €2.31 (which must be the City Tax). Apart from that, kindly note that Hotel Agli Artisti is a 3-star hotel and Hotel Florida is a 2-star hotel. There is a difference is city taxes paid in Venice depending on the class of hotel. A 3-star hotel is required to charge €3.50 City Tax per night whereas a 2-star hotel is required to charge €2.00 City Tax per night. So you can see that Hotel Agli Artisti is fraudulently over-charging City Tax for Hotel Florida. This is illegal and something needs to be done about it. Kindly acknowledge this message as a Formal Complaint. With all due respect, I require an apology from Hotel Agli Artisti, a refund for the overpayment of City Tax (and I expect them to refund all the other poor customers they have...
