Excellent location close to the Kyoto station, but not too close to be noisy. We took the executive bus from Kansai to Kyoto station and walked to the Elite Inn with our bags. There are two bus stations near the hotel that go in different directions making it very easy to go either direction of the city by bus. Excellent coffee shops nearby (highly recommend Kurasu) made getting breakfast a breeze. There's an Isetan shopping mall above the Kytoto station with a lot of food restaurants in the basement (Porto). There are some very popular restaurants on the way from the hotel to the station that were always full, so plan ahead if you want to stop and eat at the popular spots. There's a Vegan shop in the hotel as well which is quite delicious.
Going sightseeing to the temples is also quite easy from the hotel. We took an evening walk from the hotel to Toji temple nearby to see it lit up at night. Fushimi Inari was also just one train station away and we end up right infront of the temple. Getting back from the Kiyomizu-dera area was also quite easy with the bus stopping straight infront of the hotel. Overall getting around the city and going back to the hotel was a breeze.
Self check-in and checkout was easy to figure out. There was no daily room cleaning which was fine by us anyways. There was a bathtub in the bathroom with a stand-up shower. On the bottom floor they had a sitting area. You could switch up the sitting area with a mattress and sleep on the bottom floor if you prefer. All-in-all a lovely location very well...
Read moreWe had a wonderful time staying at Elite Inn. We stayed in the 2 floor tatami room, very nicely designed with sleeping area on the top floor entrance. Go downstairs for tatami area and bathroom. It was really spacious. As a bonus the room felt completely sound proof to me so I had a good night rest every single night. The room also had 2 smart tvs so we got to watch YouTube or our favorite shows easily. Outside in the common area there is a drink dispenser with options of tea and coffee which is really convenient.
Elite Inn Kyoto Station is located in an ideal location in Kyoto, we found it easy to navigate around the city from the hotel. The main station is only a short walk away and many bus lines were located less than 5 minutes walk away. There’s also many attractions a short walk or train ride away including Toji Temple and Fushimi Inari Temple.
My husband and I had a wide variety of food to choose from in the area. The hotel itself houses Mercy Vegan Restaurant which has a variety of tasty options to choose from.
Overall we had a great time in Kyoto, it is a beautiful city and our stay in Elite Inn made it all the...
Read moreDon’t let the other reviews fool you. This is honestly less than any hotel I have ever stayed in.
Not only is there no front desk staff, but there’s no laundry room let alone a singular vending machine. The bathroom sink makes no sense to me (as a mere tourist; took me five minutes to figure it out).
I understand not being able to send luggage some place else, but this hotel will not accept luggage that has been sent via another hotel or airport. Sure, the room is large, but how can this place have “Kyoto Station” in its name, yet I had to walk 15 minutes to get here? It only gets three stars for room size...
