This hotel is dirty, I was extremely uncomfortable with it. I went to the convenience store and bought cleaning product myself just so I could sleep.
Also, they put the clean linens and towels on directly on the dirty stairwell. I told management and they basically said they were "dirty sheets from the previous stay" and not my concern...problem is they likely did that with my sheets. I saw this on each floor as I went down from the top floor every day during my stay.
I attached two pictures... one is a pile of sheets (clearly the dirty sheets being removed). The other is a very neat stack of folded linens that management claimed was actually "dirty" and a misunderstanding.
The tatami floors were dirty, which is especially worse because i had the room with the futon on the ground.
the curtains smelled so bad because someone clearly spilled something on it.
The toilet consistently had a a strong urine odor because they did not sanitize it.
...and there was pinkish gunk that was built up around the drains of the tub.
I've stayed at many hotels and hostels in Japan and none have been filthy like this one was.
If cleanliness matters to you...I strongly recommend you pick...
Read moreI arrived with an internet reservation, and stayed more than five minutes only because I thought I would have been charged anyway. This place smells like thirty years of cigar and cigarette smoke have seeped into every crevice. The owner and employees are very nice, though they only speak Japanese. And it is very quiet, as almost nobody stays there. I think I was the only guest in the day I stayed. It is a stretch to call this a ryokan, because it's in a apartment building and has no garden. It has the mats and sliding doors of a ryokan, and some rocks in the corner as an attempt at a rock garden. The location is excellent, as it's just walking distance from Dotombori Street. And the owner gave me a portable wifi router, so I had wireless internet access for free. And there's cold green tea and some rice crackers provided. But the price is way too high, given the...

Con is the entrance. We got room at the top floor which is at the 7th floor. 701 to be exact. At that floor they only got 2 rooms which are 701 and 702. I think 702 got a more spacious entrance than us. Ours is like um really just for the shoes and if you are standing, you're really like standing next to the door, as in right in your face close. And yeah that's the only con that I can think of.
Room tatami floors with tv and ac with windows facing the river.
Bathroom consists of toilet and tub. Like the tub. Really spacious for me compared to the other hotel...
