t had a really small entrance, like it didn’t look like a Hostel at all, and we had to go up loads of stairs to get to the reception desk. It wasn’t really what I’d expected, it wasn’t like anywhere I’d seen in the UK. It wasn’t a clean as somewhere I’d usually stay, but it was still very nice and satisfactory, and it did feel safe. Because of the size of our group, we took up the whole of the floor with the reception desk, which also meant we had the dinosaur computer (which took 15 minutes to log into Facebook) and the TV and sofas. Looks can be deceiving, from the outside it does not look like much and is located on a back street. However the price was excellent, we are trying to stay in budget accommodation across Asia and this is great value for money. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We returned 3 times to the hotel at all times of day and night after climbing Kinabalu or off a night bus and was welcomed with a warm smile. The location is very good in town, air conditioning was excellent, decent wifi, good hot showers, comfortable beds and clean rooms! Everything we would like to find...

The rooms had excellent air conditioning, decent bathroom, very comfortable beds and internet access on a computer on the first floor. The entrance and stairs to the hotel are fairly off putting with their smell, cleanliness and general appearance, but the actual hotel once you get there is extremely comfortable and welcoming. With workers which have been very helpful and welcoming each time I have stayed I would definitely go back to stay there if I return to Kota Kinabalu. The location is perfect with just a 5-10 minute walk to local seaside market and large...
