Marriott member for the longest time and this has got to be worst staycation under Marriott and neighbor renaissance doesnt fare any better imho. Couldve given a 5 star for service as our checkin counter assistant was helpful enough to speed up our checkin i forgot to get her name, but services thereafter went downhill. I was told there ll be rm3 charge for a SPOON as i couldnt find any cutlery in the room. Not even a teaspoon which i need to feed some oats for my kid. When challenged the concierge then agreed to send one w no charge .even that it took too long and by then we needed to head out. This is quite absurd for a so called 4/5 star hotel . You mean u can’t afford to give your guests cutlery ??
To add on it’s a public holiday and crowd was just overwhelming like it’s a low cost apartment. Lobby is filled with bags and crying kids, and carpark is full ;one of our parents’ car couldnt enter mid day ! It rained in late afternoon right after everyone checks in and bcoz the pool was “famous” among families , everybody was left “stranded” on that floor feeling killjoyed n hav no choice but to camp at the mediocre kids club in order for their kids to burn their energy. It was just havoc .
The elevators r so busy that one nits to wait a few before being able to enter into one. Whether it’s morning, evening or dinner time it’s just packed and hoards of people everywhere in common area , not the ideal staycation one looks fwd to at all!
Now that’s not the worst. Ive specifically asked for quiet room facing the pool n not the main road, i cud care less about the view bcoz my previous stay at Renaissance was not good i ended up having sleepless night. But even in a quieter room, at night it was still VERY NOISY and soundproofing for these 2 hotels are just bad !!!! For a reputable hotel chain this is unacceptable. Twice i come home sleepless bcoz traffic noise was ongoing the entire night and it is noisier from 1am onwards!!
KL hotels need to really look into soundproofing as there are many inconsiderate motorists n drivers speeding on the roads like they own it in the wee hrs of night and it is really stressful. Im not even talking about mild traffic noises, every vehicle that vrooms by cud be heard !
In the morning or even late nights you also get irresponsible stupid neighbors slamming their doors as they enter n exit their rooms. Again soundproofing is bad, and door slammings are loud ! Seriously what kind of 1 star apartment did i pay rm600 Per night for ?!
The complaints go endless and im not sure why the night censor or alarm or smoke detectors in the room have to have red light and flickering white lights right on top of our bed ! Not everyone has thick eyelids and unfortunately for me even with eye shut the flickering lights can be seen / felt. This is just plain annoying and it also comes with some clicking sound!
All in all our staycation was utter disappointment. Noisy environment is a major concern for hotels as guests r always looking fwd to a comfortable night’s sleep....
Read moreOverall, our experience at the hotel was satisfactory, but there were several aspects that could have been improved.About the Service:Our family arrived at the hotel around noon, eager to settle in and start our vacation. Upon checking in at the counter, we were informed that we would receive a call when our room was ready. Unfortunately, the call did not come until 3 o'clock, which left us feeling a bit frustrated. We understood that the official check-in time was at 3, but we noticed other guests arriving at the same time who were able to check into their rooms early. This discrepancy was disappointing, as we were left waiting without clear communication.During this waiting period, we expected some assistance, typical of 4- or 5-star hotels, which often allow guests to store luggage and enjoy the facilities while waiting for their rooms. Unfortunately, it was only after we inquired about activities for our children that the front desk staff mentioned we could access the playground before check-in. A proactive approach from the counter staff would have made our wait much more pleasant.Facilities:The amusement park on the hotel grounds was enjoyable, but we encountered an abundance of mosquitoes, which resulted in many bites on our feet. Despite the mosquito issue, we visited on a non-holiday when the park was relatively quiet, allowing our children to have a great time without feeling overwhelmed by crowds. When we finally arrived in our hotel room, I noticed a few disappointments: there were no bathrobes provided, and we found the absence of paper towels outside the bathroom inconvenient. The only paper towels available were tucked away in the restroom, which made them less accessible for our needs. On a positive note, the bed in our room was exceptionally comfortable, contributing to a restful stay. We had a twin tower view room, and I must say the scenery was stunning; I truly enjoyed the views from our window. However, my husband pointed out a safety concern regarding the swimming pool. He mentioned that the tiles used surrounding the pool area were not anti-slip, making it easier to slip and fall—a caution worth noting for families with children. As for the gym, The gym featured two treadmills, and they were arranged in separate areas for men and women, which provided a sense of privacy. Overall, while we had some enjoyable moments, there were several service and facility-related aspects that left room for...
Read moreI've stayed at several Four Points properties already, and this one feels different. I felt like it's more suitable to be under Courtyard brand -- in terms of its aesthetics and its offerings (eg, breakfast spread, facilities, and services).
Pros: Friendly staff - this easily lands on my top 5 when it comes to staff. As soon as you reach the lobby, everyone greets you! And their greetings felt genuine.
Spacious room - I'm not sure if it's only due to our room being upgraded, but our room was huge for the tier of this property.
Breakfast spread - We really loved their Beef Rendang! Plus, there are varieties of options -- Noodles, Egg station, Salad area, cheeses (for breakfast, it's a win!), breads, rice and ulam, juices and coffees. I just wished they had Soy milk for lactose intolerant like me.
Facilities - If you're travelling with family, then this is the right property for you since it has a resort-quality pool area with slides. It also has a dedicated playground.
Cons:
Sound proofing - this is when your experience will be tricky. Our room was on a low floor, so the sound of vehicles on the road was still loud even at night. You will also hear the occasional chatting of other guests outside.
Marriott Elite member perks - When we requested the usual 4pm late checkout, we were informed that they can only give us up to 1pm. The staff on the front desk explained that since the property is tied to a convention centre, they have limited perks to provide even if you're a Platinum member. We appreciate that when we tried to request again, they allowed us up to 2pm.
Lack of system in managing breakfast buffet - while the staff are nice, I just wished they had a better system (eg, giving time slots or allowing guest to choose their preferred time during check-in). We had to queue for almost 15 minutes to wait for our turn to be seated. Not really a long time, but the queue doesn't really provide an optimal experience to other guests whose tables were outside the restaurant.
Overall, it was a good experience, special thanks to the staff! But this isn't something that I'd first consider in case we need...
