Bad service. Terrible service. Went there on the 4th day of CNY. Reached there early when they are not ready to serve the customers yet. When we asked them what time they are opening, the lady (I assumed is the lady boss) just waved her hand from inside and shouted “NOT OPEN YET! YOU GUYS WAIT OUTSIDE!”. One of the customer asked whether we can go inside and wait or not since the weather was quite hot but the lady ignored us so he asked the same question to one of her employee and she said “I don’t know oh~ the lady boss no give any order to us we cannot do anything”. Few mins later, the lady came and rushed me to give my orders (I was the first in line) but my parents was on their way so I said I’ll order later. This lady proceed to shout at me and say “YOU DONT WANT ORDER THEN STAND ASIDE AND WAIT” (it seems like I have to order first only I can go inside and sit) so I did. She then proceed to asked the 2nd customer. When my parents came, I told her that we can order now, she then shouted and say “YOU WAIT FIRST”. Idk why is she shouting and acted as if we are begging to eat at her shop lol. Anyway, we got in and thought the food must be very great la since the lady boss is so arrogant. However, it turns out that the rice ball was cold & tasteless, large roasted pork came with a large plate with small amount of pork & the steam chicken was so so. One of her employee came and recommend her “gui lin gao” saying it’s “todays special” and when we didn’t order she showed us faces and left which we all felt it’s rude. They are so busy to the point that my father have to help them get the food and self serve the food 🙂. We even overheard the table beside us complaining that one of their dishes was not serve yet to the employee and the employee responded by saying “don’t ask me don’t ask me! I serve food only” OMG! Even if your task is just to serve the food but can’t you help the customers to ask your boss ah?? Conclusion: Food was so so but attitude TERRIBLY RUDE! First and...

I read all reviews. All Shop good business one got many comments in Melaka. Cold, tasteless, bad service, pricey, stomach pain, Expensive, not worth it to come, won't come 2nd time and recommend better place. For all of you, to cast negative comments where degrade other people business is a viral attitude. You all can not to visit again but don't publicly use the platform to criticise and cast negative hatred towards all Shops in Melaka. They are finding hard revenue and rental at Unesco Place all Reached RM 10,000.00 . Customer paid little but demand higher. All got insatiable demands that most shop cannot fulfill. Then food not nice, leftover on the table. Some people poor till no money to eat, but you all want cheap, nice staff, nice place, hot food, hot soup Free with no costs. Rental expensive who cared about them. These comments are towards all comments I read in all Google reviews, I found out All Businessmen and shop owner not easy to be in Food and beverage industries especially during covid time. Customers are more pandemic then covic. Your speech degrade all the businessman who dared their life to do business till mignight then received a lot of bad comment. All got money paid branded but Food RM 15+++++. ALl complained. You all can complain thru friend private network but not to publicly post on Google Reviews to create Hatred impulse towards...

Don't get fooled by their crowd. If you see a full restaurant, you would expect the food to be good. This restaurant is quite the contrary. Food was terrible. Chicken rice balls were made of cheap rice and were too salty. The chicken tasted like it had been cooked hours before being served and generally didn't taste like chicken. Chili was sour and overpowered the whole dish, so that was all you could taste. I ordered the iced lemon tea, and I was charged RM7 for what tasted like a cordial. And the worst of all dishes was the cendol. The dish tasted like it's ingredients simply didn't want to be there; they were forcefully placed there against their will. What they served to us wasn't a dish, but merely a hostage situation. Service was as bad as the food. The waitress didn't tell us that the kampung chicken was steamed, even though we were expecting for it to be roasted. She was very rude to us too. They refused to take that revolting "cendol" off our bill, with the reason that they had already typed it for the receipt. The restaurant was disgusting and was filthy. If you want good chicken rice, then you can walk a few blocks over to other restaurants that are way better. Do not make the same mistake that we made by spending actual hard earned money at this place. Overall the only thing I realized is that I spent RM 55 that I will...

Long story short: Avoid this restaurant with your life. It's a culinary catastrophe. I had a 3-day trip in Melaka, and this restaurant was the worst experience of the entire trip, probably one of the worst for me personally in the past years. To say the restaurant is bad is an understatement. All the dishes are tasteless, ranging from chicken, duck, roasted pork, to vegetables. They even screwed up simple drinks like fruit juice and ice lemon tea. But wait, it gets worse. Food is expensive and the cashier is rude. The only payment mode accepted is cash, which is ridiculous. Even the other much smaller stores along Jonker Street can accept some other forms of app/card payments; such backwardness is almost impressive. The place is crowded with Chinese tourists, which seems like they have ties with tourist agencies to get their customers. They probably are not looking for your second visit ever in your life again; glad we can have that agreement in common. Definitely a go-to place if you lack some challenges in your life and are craving disappointment.

Have not had this for a very long time. Went for a late lunch and found it a far far cry from the hey days. The chicken rice balls are the slightly smaller than ping pong balls. They use to be the size of a tennis ball as I recalled. Was told 5 balls equals to a bowl of rice. This was not true as five balls would probably be only 3 table spoons full. The rice was not fragrant but a bit too soggy again compared to the hey days. Ordered the steamed chicken and siew yok. The chicken was tasteless while the siewyok was very salty. The chilli sauce was also a let down. Wanted to quench the heat with some cendol but was told they ran out. The restaurant was an oven. It was a very unpleasant dining experience. Service was acceptable while hygiene was an issue. The small plates that came with the chicken rice balls were quite dirty. Hence, we quickly finished our orders and moved on to the adjacent shop for some ice cool baba cendol within an airconditioned environment. Will unlikely be back to this outlet.

Somehow, none of the eating places I visited in Malacca meets the expectations during my recent visits. It was good 1-2 decade or so ago when a fellow colleague (ex-Malaccan, now a Canadian) brought us to his hometown. Everything was SO good & yummy then. Perhaps, Malacca had transformed into 💯 % touristy place ~commercialised! The supposedly infamous chicken rice ball was unflavoured & soggy (too much water?); kampong chicken was tasteless & soft (either in freezer too long & thawed badly?)! Fish ball was nothing great too. Old Choi Sum with tougher stems, which was less palatable being served (alas)! The only thing that’s acceptable: Beansprout, which I can do better lol The decors of this Famosa Chicken Rice Ball is quite nice “Malacca World Heritage City”. Ironically, the food quality is far from delicious. Total bill is about myr85+, where I can have a much better choice of food somewhere. I should’ve researched/asked my local friends next time.
