This hotel, where I recently obtained a long-term stay card, was opened by a local Nepali in April 1994 and has been in operation for 30 years, truly an old establishment.
The reason it has been able to operate for so long is that the owner Kiran Malakar is very kind and treats guests with great hospitality. Many returning and regular customers make reservations with the owner in advance. Additionally, the owner treats his employees very well, like friends. Many of the employees have been working here for ten to twenty years, and they are all long-term staff.
Before coming here, I stayed in other hotels. Either they didn't have 24-hour hot water, the bedding wasn't good, the rooms were poorly ventilated and too hot, they had just been renovated and smelled too strong, the hygiene conditions weren't great, or the service was mediocre. As a picky accommodation enthusiast, I am indeed very particular.
The hotel is divided into a front building and a back building, with different operation times. The front building is closer to the main road and can be noisy. Since it was built earlier, the conditions are relatively poor, but the price is cheaper. The back building is in the courtyard garden, quieter, with newer and better facilities, but more expensive. You can directly check the room and bathroom photos to get a feel for the specifics. Since I am not very sensitive to noise and the outside sounds are like white noise to me, and also because I am staying long-term, I chose the more economical front building.
Apart from the hotel conditions, the service and staff are excellent. They care about my accommodation experience and chat with me. While I was writing this recommendation, the staff were brewing tea and asked if I wanted a cup, which led to the final photo of us toasting.

Read moreWe went this hotel by seeing 3-star hotel and expected same level of service but Personally this hotel doesn’t deserve any star. Such a disgrace in the name of hotel. Service is zero and no sense of hospitality. Hygiene is poor as well. Plus they just want money in everything and charged us for a lipstick marks on towel. I mean ridiculous. Why the hell you gave towel if you’re gonna charge extra for using that. Management system is super rude and don’t know how to talk with guest. I’m not surprised why...
Read moreI recently stayed at Hotel Jagat in Jyatha Thamel, and it was a disappointing experience. The linen was incredibly dirty, making it clear they hadn't been changed in a while. When I requested clean sheets, the staff member became quite angry, which was unprofessional and surprising. Additionally, the water in the shower didn’t come out at all, which made for a very uncomfortable stay. Also, wifi I was poor connection too. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel based on...
