I recently stayed at Hurley's of Queenstown for $233 a night, and the experience was extremely disappointing, especially for such a special occasion like my honeymoon: Bathroom Issues: After one shower, there was no hot water left, forcing the second person to take a cold shower. It took an hour for the water to warm up again. The bathwater was discolored, and the shower gel dispenser was empty. Parking Problems: Road closures and no clear instructions made accessing the parking very stressful, and I had to manage it on my own. Poor Maintenance: The kettle was dirty with iron-colored residue, and the dryer was full of lint and fibers. Noise Problems: The rooms were not soundproof, with constant noise from neighbors and the hallway disrupting our stay. Smoke Smell: Despite keeping the windows and doors closed, the smell of smoke from other rooms seeped into ours, which was unbearable. Unreasonable Charges: A $50 fee for a lost electronic key felt excessive and added to the frustration. This stay completely ruined what should have been a special and relaxing experience. For $233 a night, I expected much better. Management needs to take serious action to address these issues.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Photos on website are very misleading! Rooms, bathroom etc are so outdated, mould around and cracked tiles on bath, room smelt musty and like cigarettes- even though there’s signs saying no smoking. Don’t even have an elevator so not accessible to anyone who needs to use one (they did not state this anywhere on their website) Was with my mum who has a heart condition and she nearly passed out from going up the stairs once. Originally were put on the top floor- room was a literal sauna it was so hot, the only thing to ‘cool’ it down was an old wooden ceiling fan and a big metal fan- which completely stopped working after 5 minutes. The problems were endless! We moved rooms for our 2nd and last night and were still put in a room needing stairs to access it (we were told all other rooms were booked) which we found hard to believe. Also found a pair of men’s socks under the bed. Our stay was from 10/11/2023-12/11/2023. All other times we stayed in Queenstown we have stayed at other places and loved them. Definitely disappointed to say the least!

Do not stay here! I must have just glossed over the reviews when I booked because there is construction going on right outside and I can see in the reviews it been at least a year! I had no idea til check in, when we were told it’s overnight! I’m so annoyed. It’s so noisy, we’re in Queenstown skiing for 3 days, it’s cost us an absolute fortune and now we will have to ski on a terrible nights sleep. I would change hotels if I could, and if I knew what I know now I would never have booked it.

Very deceiving, that FUTURE GUESTS were not informed of ongoing long term roadworks right infrontof the the hotel. Stay away from this hotel if you want peace and quiet. Even the “views” were blocked by the road closure. We were only informed on the day of the checkin. Most guests on that time were requesting to have a change of room but we’re turned down “because they can’t just tell the workers to turn off the noise”. A little honest to future guests would’ve been helpful.

We were even charged extra $15 a day for a two year old. When I questioned the manager, she said “I wouldn’t if I checked you in, but it varies from people”- you can see how there’s no direct and clear policy on such things. An extra charge for a two year old, when in fact we were only given 1-2 bath towels for 2 adults. Even the shower gels/ coffee were only topped up as little as they can get. The wifi isn’t working most of the time, tried to call the support number given but was no good at all. The rooms are outdated with tacky hearts shaped dusty curtains. The spa bath isn’t working and too dirty to use. Even the owners were aware that the room phone is broken and didn’t do anything to replace or fix them. It only shows that the quick turnover of owners on this hotel reflects its poor quality- 3 owners in a span of few years.

The motel Is trying to emulate a “no frills cheap motel”but doesn’t justify the price since I’ve stayed to most 3-5 stars and way cheaper than what this motel...

We had the honeymoon room, it looked really nice on the website but all the photos are miss leading, when we arrive and got taken to our room it smelled like smoke it smell sooo bad, we had a spa bath in the room, we wanted to use it the frist night we stayed unfortunately only cold water was coming out of the taps.... so I had to boil the jug like 4 5 times to get some hot water but still couldn't stay in for long as it wasn't hot enough, the next day I had a shower and it was only warm and then after me my partner had shower and it was cold, I went down to complain and she said we only have small cylinders I can show you, she was trying to show me all of them, but I mean seriously your a hotel it should be unlimited hot water, you should be able to get hot water all the time in a hotel! Why have spa baths in the hotal if people can't use them at all coz of small cylinders, The shower head keep moving around and wouldn't stay still. It was soo hot in the bedroom we couldn't sleep the frist night we had to put the cold fan on, she said they have built in heating and we couldn't even turn it off our selfs. The hotel needs updating its so dark inside. very disappointing. THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAY AT! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL! THIS HOTEL IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY! STAY AWAY! WE WONT BE...
