I booked and paid for a 7 day tour of Peru for myself, my kids and my parents through Amazing Travel Peru (Dither is the tour operator's name). Dither contracts with Eco Home View for the tourists to stay at. Dither kept on stating Eco Home View is a great hotel with wonderful views. The wifi password is BESTVIEWINCUSCO. But really there is no special view. We stayed in Cusco in Eco Home View which is the worst hotel ever. Your car can't go there and so if you have luggage it's on you to carry it. You have to go up or down several stairs to get there which can be hard for elderly parents. Dither from Amazing Travel Peru did not tell me this. . There was also no heat when it was 0 degrees C outside. Again no one tells you this. They give you blankets and pretty much you are own your own. It was VERY COLD at night! The people who work there are very rude especially the man working the front counter. On the day we left (we left early due to the horrible hotel) the first thing he said was "Keys, keys!" and ignored anything we asked. He had a rude tone every time he responded. It says breakfast is included but it is only eggs, tea and crappy bread. They don't even have coffee included. You have to pay extra for other breakfast items. It is actually a hostel billed as a guest house or hotel. This IS NOT A HOTEL by any means. They say "you have to pay" before you get anything including food. There is no one at the front desk from 10 pm to 6 am. So if you get sick from altitude sickness, you are own your own. They DO NOT have phones in the rooms. The rooms are ugly with no visual appeal. On the day we were supposed to go to Machu Picchu my son developed altitude sickness and hypoxia. The hotel was less than helpful. They were asking me to take my luggage from storage down to my room right when we got back from the hospital. This place only has people staying there as they contract with tour companies and deceive foreigners to stay there. We left early due to the horrible hotel and the experience. The showers sucked and hot water did not come for minutes after starting the water. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY booking this horrible place in...
Read moreHotel Resbalosa. The hotel is located near plaza de armas which is great, but to get to the hotel is very hard and sometimes exhausting. I would not reccomrec this hotel to elder coulesc. Service is below average, the young girl that works in the morning is great and very friendly. But the 2 older ladies are very complicated and mean. For example we wanted to get new towels and we where told they where changed every 3 days! Wow especially with this cold weather thats just ridiculous. The rooms during the winter months do get very cold so make sure you ask for extra blankets, because at some points of the day it can feel colder than outside. The WiFi is very weak and goes in an out constantly, aomif your planning to watch a video make sure it's a short one. Other than that the hotel is below average for the price. If you are coming here to do tours please I insist do not book via the hotel unless you have no time. The prices they offer are double of what you can find down by the plaza littarly 5 minutes down the road. The breakfast is simple. You get a choice of coffee or tea, a juice and bread. The view from the roof top is amazing but that's about the only great thing the hostal...
Read moreNot sure about the review below but we had an amazing stay at Eco Home View -- it could perhaps be a miscommunication due to language barriers. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The front desk was open from 6am - 10pm which was great. They also held our safely for up to 5 days when we went on a trek to Machu Picchu, and when we returned they had kindly placed our belongings in our room. ||The hotel does get a bit cold, but they have LOTS of blankets available. The balcony and lounge space is lovely, although regrettably we did not spend much time. The hotel is also decorated cutely and has spaces for recycling plastic bottles :) They also have a laundry service available and helped us scheduled our taxi to and from the airport. The taxi driver assisted us with our luggage (including my 50lb suitcase). ||The only issues we had were that the shower never got terribly hot and that there wasn't a tea kettle available in the room. ||The location, while up a lot of stairs, is super central to the Plaza but not too busy or crowded. We never ate breakfast at the hotel as we are vegan and there are LOTS of other options in Cusco. ||Overall, I would definitely book again...
