Stayed here for three nights with exotica/condor travel 2 week Peru vacation. While location to the historic district is convenient, there was much lacking-- sleep, hot water and a decent breakfast. The old colonial style building with rooms centered around a courtyard looks interesting but is very noisy. For the first two nights we were in a first floor room next to the main entrance which opens to the lobby(courtyard. People coming in late at night and leaving from 3am and on. Room 102 had no ability to contain water in the tub and wouldn't drain water from the sink. After the first night we asked to get somewhere else in the hotel. I'm fact the condor rep asked the front desk and we were assured to be relocated. Got back from Machu Picchu late for our second night only to find nothing had been done to relocate us. For the third night after a super long day to rainbow mountain we were put in a second floor room off the main courtyard, which was quieter. There was little to no hot water. Breakfast options were limited and started about 6:20am. The breakfast bag for our early departures was a joke. Exotica/Condor travel need to determine if the number of issues is worth continuing the business relationship. Location to historic areas is good. Because of historic significance of building, rooms are like very small, many have glass panels to room doors and sound control is impossible. Would not...
Read moreHonestly the check in process was a nightmare. There was no one working at the front desk to check me in. i had to wait for about an hour for someone to come, there was only 1 cleaning leady, who told me the front desk guy was gone for the day... it was an awful check-in experience specially because i was traveling with 2 little kids.. after the unfortunate experience, for breakfast they made me feel like they wanted to give as little as possible (i undestand the pandemic has caused money problems, but making your guest feel like you want to give them as little as possible and unwelcomed isnt fair. Lastly, on my last day the front desk guy wanted to charge me an additional 18%, and kept repeating this to me, I was more than willing the pay, but i wanted to make sure it was the correct charge, luckily I can read and speak Spanish fluently and I saw on my hotels.com reservation that it stated tourist that spend more than 3 months in Peru are entitled to that charge, if not, no charge should take place(i was in peru less than 1 month), so after reading this and showing it to him, he said fine i'm not going to charge you the 18%.....i found this SUPER unprofessional, he made me feel as if he is just trying to take money away from me. I would NOT come back, nor would i recommend...
Read moreWe stayed in a junior suite for 2 nights after returing from visiting Agua Caliente (Machu Picchu). The reception checked us in quickly and helped get our bags to the room that was on the second floor overlooking a quiet side road. The door to the room was on the main atrium brightly lit with a sunroof. The room was spacious as well as the bathroom with a large soaking bath tub. The shower was glorious: wet, hot and lots of flow from the rainshower head. We did the one block walk to the city square to forage for dinner at the Incagrill. Breakfast was in the atrium on the first floor. They changed up the main courses every day! After a day long touring of Cusco the next day we eat at the dinner for hotel guest only. The beef stroganoff was delicious. One serving was more than enough for both of us. We finished dinner with a banana brandy crepe with Ice cream. It was so nice after such a day and dinner to go just upstairs to our room. Also while we were out touring we got our week of laundry done by a very nice service arranged by the hotel reception. Sunday we got a special treat with a huge cultural event with marching band and dancer from all over Peru. Stay, dine, tour and enjoy the culture with the...
