Booked muyucmarka hostel in Cusco 6 months prior to our adventure in Peru, we had the booking confirmed and was asked for flight arrival details so that we could be collected from the airport. On arrival at Cusco there was no taxi to pick us up, fortunately an extremely helpful front desk at the airport managed to ring the hostel, we arranged transport and on arriving at muyucmarka hostel where told they had no room available, his reason was that he didn't read the emails, and palmed us off with a place around the corner which was totally unacceptable but considering the long journey we had endured (20 hours) we needed to sleep.||On leaving to do the Salkantay trek I personally went back to the muyucmarka to confirm that a room was availabl on return some 6 days later and was assured this would be honoured and was shown a room that was acceptable, so our bags where left at the hostel for our return.||Having completed the Salkantay trek we had been transported back to the muyucmarka hostel to be told yet again there was no room available with another excuse. It was only through Carlos from Alpaca expeditions that we managed to secure another hostel on th e other side of the city.||I would most strongly advise anyone thinking of booking this hostel, to be very careful as they appear to double book reservations without any compunction and then fob you off with a lesser place. Truly a place not to be...
Read moreWorse customer service ever! In december 2019, we were supposed to get to this place after our flight have been canceled 3 times to get to Cusco and sleep the night before in Lima airport. They canceled our reservation less than 12 hours before without telling anything. We didn't have any wifi!! Could you imagine!! We would have make all the trip from Cusco to this hotel to finally don't have any room. We found wifi by random and we noticed that they canceled the booking less than 12 hours before we were coming. We didn't notice it until the morning we were supposed to come. When we book a hotel is to make sure to have somewhere to sleep and have a shower at least and that is a big problem if you can't even provide it. Even more when travellers don't have any wifi point around and they need to make sure that they still have the place booked. We had to find an other place to sleep After they have been threatening us and hopefully we found "Inka Home" amazing one. ||Be aware to this place, they cancel your booking without any reasons, it has happen to people we met in Cusco as well in cusco for this...
Read moreCould easily be 5* with a few extra touches. Room was amazing, big, comfy and private bathroom. The view of Cusco was amazing. Location is good, right near the main square but is a 5/10 min walk uphill (to get the view) WiFi is great! A huge smart TV to each Netflix and amazon prime if you’re a member. This site has a very cute soppy dog Pocho which you’ll fall in love with
Cons Breakfast was ok, nothing amazing. Eggs and local buns. (Would be a nice touch to do a packed breakfast as most tours are early morning) Shower was extremely temperamental, you either get 25 degrees or 55 degrees. 1 out 4 members of staff spoke English which caused a problem when wanting simple things like toilet roll( which didn’t get replaced daily. Instead had to get it myself daily) Took us 20 mins to check out because the English speaking member was out.
5* for the English speaking member, he defiantly knows how to work with the public!
I would definitely stay here again. Nothing was majorly wrong with this stay but could work on...
