If you see this, go SOMEWHERE else. There is so many beautiful place and respectful place around Cusco.
I was septics and curious about the comments that were quite good and really bad on this Hostel.
Here's our story if you are interested:
Me and my friend ordered our first night ( 2 bed and a private bathroom). When we arrived we thought it was weird they kept the main door lock inside the Hostel, making you impossible to go out without the owner unlocking the main exit for you.
We still don't understand why, but they gave us one bed instead of the 2 single bed.
We didn't argue, we just thought they were overbooked.
We then decided to booked later in the week 4 more nights... and that's were our real story started!
We ordered again the same to twin bed with a bathroom for a good price. I received in my mail the confirmation of the booking and the final prize for those 4 nights.
And again they gave us 3 different room for 4 nights. The owner seems like she didn't understood a word of English. So we tried our best in Spanish. But we just accepted again that this is it. Every day we had to pack our things check out at 9 am to check in again later.
On our day of checking out, the owner announced us to pay the double amount of what I had reserved for. I kept showing her the total amount of my reservation on Booking.com and told her she had it wrong.
When she saw we were starting to be mad, because it felt like a scam. She went and locked the exit door with the lock. Her husband came over and threatened us to call the police and miss our flight back home.
I told him "okay call the police", I think they got scared that I was okay with it. And then bargained the ridiculous price they were asking for. We still paid to much for what we didn't even had ordered!
Other then scamming issues: -All the rooms we have stayed in are full of black mold. -Sheets and covers are filled with weird black and oily stains. -There is some electric lamp not covered inside the shower and you could see electrical shortcuts... we didn't even tried to take a shower 🤣! -And also!! They understand perfectly English and French, when we argued on the price she was understanding and answering perfectly well. I think they do it on purpose to...
Read moreThis is by far the worst hostel I've ever been to. The rooms are not in good shape, the bathrooms are just not enough, for example, there's one for 8 rooms. Obviously there are a couple more but you gotta walk with all your belongings in the cold weather. The bathrooms are not clean at all, I mean you can actually see the mold on the floor and curtains. The service is not good and the owners have so much to learn about how to treat tourist respectfully. We were a party of five and we all agree on this perception. The only good things are the location, close to the historical downtown and price. They seem to discriminate people who are on the cheapest rooms. I read the bad comments and realized that the purpose of entering your room without permission is just to check up whether you washed clothes, so that they can charge you a fine for it. The owners justify themselves by saying you paid for the cheapest room and you kinda deserve it, I couldn't believe their responses to bad comments. In our case that didn't apply cause we paid for the service but that tells you pretty much the kind of people they are. A friend was the one who made the reservation so we got stuck for 3 nights there. The common areas are all wrecked and maintenance seems to be only a dream. If you can find another place, do so by all means!! I don't recommend this place and I have traveled for so many years and this is the second time I must leave a negative review, because I am always fair when writing them. Don't waste your money here because Cusco has so many different options for all budgets. Just read what they answer to every negative review and you'll understand who you are dealing with. Apparently, they have a perfect hostel and nothing...
Read moreJust 5 min upwards from Plaza de Armas there is this nice, simple and very familar hostel in Cuszo. Indeed the nights can be very cold at 3000m so remember before you book a room with shared bathroom, you need to go outside at night if you need to go to the toilette.||We got some extra blankets immediately as we asked for them at our arrival.||Our 2-bed-room was nice and clean, the roomservice cleaned up every day. The small.||garden with a pavilion and hammock was the best place to take little brake. The hostel is all in all in a very quiet location. No party-people or traffic around.||The street is very small and steep, so if you order a tour it is possible, that the bus can not pick you up in front of the hotel, but either at the plaza 2min above the hostel or at the Paza de Armas.||Place notice, the following is quiet typical for Perú, so it's definitely not a negative recommendation, just for some international travellers to notice: Breakfast is simple compared to some other nations. There was coffee, tea, typical peruvian buns, strawberry jam and butter and omelette, if you ask for it. That's it. It is possible that when you want to shower, there is no warm water. That's not that unusual, wait for later or the next morning, when the water tank is...
