Euro Hostal — Hotel in Distrito de Cusco

Since the beginning of my stay, Euro hospedaje has been a delight to stay at. It is a family run affair with a wonderful atmosphere, and loving caretakers. Wally and Gardenia, the owners of this marvelous hostel, have been nothing but kind and generous individuals with a real passion for making their guests feel welcome. It is possible to arrange all the trips and ruins around Cusco with them directly, including Manchu Picchu, for a substantial lower price than charged anywhere. Cusco is a place where they try to rip off tourist but Wally will make sure that does not happen-- 70 soles for the boleto turistico estudiante to visit more than a dozen ruins, museums, and festivals around Cusco. 175$ for transportation, entrance, and meals to all different treks, such as Manchu Picchu, Ollaytantambo, Chinchero Tipon, Pikllata, Pisac, Sasquewaman, quenco, Moray, Maras, Tambomachay, Pukupukara, and many more--this also includes the price for the hostal in aguas calientes, the base for Manchu Picchu, which we had a spectacular view of the mountain. We stayed in Euro Hostal before, after and between our trips to Machu Picchu and Manu National Park: 5 nights. We came here accidentally but we were very happy with our choice. It is a cute family hostal with super friendly owners. They are always willing to help you. The owner called agencies and taxis for us, and arranged the laundry for us. She even gave me some muña tea when I had trouble with my stomach. We had to leave around 5AM several times, and the owners woke up early to help us out. The rooms are clean and spacious (our room at least) and during our stay the curtains got an upgrade. Be aware to put on the electric shower in advance, to be sure of a nice hot shower. Mala experiencia, nada recomendable. En mi estancia en Euro Hostel se dieron varias situaciones que me hicieron estar muy incómodo y tenso. Le pedí al propietario, Wally, si podia usar la cocina y me dijo que sí. Al ir a usarla cada vez que hacía algo me echaba una reprimenda por usar la cocina como a mí me parecía lógico, cuando nunca me explicó nada. Me echó una reprimenda por cocinar a las 8 pm diciendo que no se podía más allá de las 6 pm, me reprendió por usar dos fuegos a la vez (cosa totalmente normal en todas las cocinas que he usado) y añadiendo que así estropearía los fogones y que tendría que pagar por ellos, estos fueron unos de los tantos incidentes con la cocina, que se podrían haber evitado si él me lo hubiera explicado de antemano, lo que me hizo sentir muy incómodo. Me fui unos días al amazonas y le pedí si podía dejar cosas y cuando volviera me quedaría en su hostal de nuevo, me dijo que sí y que me reservaba una habitación para el día de mi llegada. La sorpresa llegó cuando al volver del Amazonas a las 8 pm después de 14 horas viajando me dijo que no tenía habitación para mí sin más explicación, además al devolverme mis cosas se olvidó de darme una de las bolsas con lo que tuve que volver a recogerla. Otro incidente fue que al ir a pagar me quería cobrar una noche extra alegando que él había apuntado en una libreta que yo había llegado el 4, cuando hice la reserva en booking para el 5, e incluso después de confirmar que en booking efectivamente la reserva estaba para el día 5 él insistía en que booking ‘lo habría cambiado’ y que su libreta escrita a mano por él tenía más peso. Todos estos incidentes me hicieron sentir muy mal y pasar una estancia muy tensa e incómoda. Por el mismo precio encontré otros guest houses y hostels mucho mejores.
