Don't be thrown by the entrance through the doors. It may look like a rundown courtyard but you walk through to the hotel itself which is quaint. Our hosts were more than accommodating with answering all our questions and organising a tour guide to come to our room to discuss options for day trips while we acclimatised and waited for our Machu Picchu trip to begin after Christmas. |The view from the rooftop is spectacular looking over the whole city and the close by Plaza de Armas. It's even more spectacular at night and the best place for breakfast each morning ||The location is great with markets, San Blas and the plaza with free walking tours only a few streets away ||We felt safe in the area even at night and our hosts made sure we knew where to go and where not to. ||Added bonus of scoulding hot water and extra thick blankets in the cupboard for those...
Read moreWe stayed for just 1 night on our way back from MP. Its confusing from the street as it looks closed, but you ring the bell then go through an old courtyard initially to arrive at the hostel. Its nicely kept and very clean. our double room was very comfortable with nice sheets, towels etc.A good shower and good wifi.||I was really upset on leaving as we were told we had arranged to have coffee and something to eat prior to leaving at 7:00am. We went upstairs, the tables were ready but the staff member wouldn't let us eat, told us to go out on the street and find something. Just as we were about to go, she banged on the door to tell us we could, but too late. We even translated on Google that the manager had arranged this but no she wouldn't have it. left a bad taste about the place. Paid...
Read moreThe place was pretty good value for the price! Rooms are a little dark and it does get absolutely freezing at night. The heat unfortunately doesn’t kick in until 10pm which was the worst part of this place.
Breakfast was rather plain, some eggs and bread with jam and a selection of tea. But staff was super nice and the views were incredible from the breakfast room. It’s also phenomenal to have a common area to eat in or hang out in throughout the day!
Location was absolutely perfect, super central but quiet enough to get away. The doorbell needs a better system though, got woken up multiple times every night by a driver waiting to pick someone up or someone who forgot their key. Very annoying.
Overall would recommend for travelers...
