We were booked at this hotel through our tour company. This hotel is good if you're on a budget. No bells and whistles. The free wifi was not great - it often cut out or was unavailable. There are no toiletries in the bathroom like shampoo/soap/conditioner, so be sure to buy or bring those. They did provide towels. If your room is on the 3rd floor, the ceiling beams may be low - as a tall person, this was quite annoying and I hit my head. The water pressure was off; it'd fluctuate from weak to incredibly strong and hot, all in one shower. The location cannot be beat though - right off the main square, next to plenty of restaurants and across from the chocolate museum. They provide free breakfast, with eggs and fruits and bread, ham and cheese. The bed was soft, warm and comfortable. They came in and made the bed every day, and I had left a bunch of clothes on my bed, which they nicely and neatly folded. Definitely a good place to stay if you are on a budget and know to...

I was always having to ask for items. I'm a pretty low maintenance traveller, 3 star hotels are fine as long as they are clean. The only thing that's worth a complaint was our washroom. The handwashing faucet sprayed everywhere and leaked from the bottom, soaking the floor. The showerhead didn't exist period. There's no shelves to put your toiletries on, only the top of the toilet. You may want to request a room in the back because the front faces a busy road and park. If you sleep like the dead,...
Read morePosada Villa Mayor is an old-fashioned 3-star hotel with a brilliant location right in the heart of Cusco's Centro Historico. Right by plenty of restaurants, many small shops offering tours, and the city's main square.||The rooms are functional without much luxury - but the price is also on the lower end. If you're a light sleeper, ask for a room facing away from the very noisy square (windows and doors are a bit drafty).||Breakfast is decent without being extravagant. The room is cleaned nicely every day. And the staff are very helpful if you have special requests (like a very early takeaway breakfast when you're going on one of the long...
