My wife and I had great service and awesome lunch at the Inka Grill. Thanks to our local tour guide! We had a nice welcoming and were able to find a table for two without any problem. The restaurant was bright, cute, and cozy. The waiter was super nice and very patient with our questions. We followed the waiter’s recommendations, Alpacca steak and Quinotto (quinoa risotto with chicken), and we were very happy with the result. The bread with olive oil sauce was different but tasty. The Quinotto was very rich and flavorful (I tasted more seafood rather than chicken broth from it), and the chicken was tender. Our first try of Alpacca was impressive. The meat was cooked medium rare but wasn’t bloody at all. It was super tender. So tender that it reminds me of Tuna Tataki with beef and a hint of lamb flavor. We don’t like lamb meat but this didn’t bother us at all. We were a bit frustrated at the end to get the waiter’s attention for the payment, however, we were able to get a manager’s attention for the payment and he was very polite and helpful. Our one-hour lunch was a total success with a couple of brand new dishes. P.S. - Our tour guide took us to the Limo restaurant which was across the plaza because a group of 27 couldn’t make it to the Inka Grill. I immediately noticed that the Limo was a Japanese restaurant. I checked the menu and peeked at the dishes from the tables. I am a native Japanese and the dishes at Limo didn’t look good for me and so we went back to the Inka Grill. We were happy with our decision because most of the people in the group complained about their food at the Limo restaurant. They said the food was too salty, and pricey for the quality and quantity. (If you have a chance please try Udon noodles in Japan and/or a Japanese-owned Udon restaurant. It’s cheap yet so tasty. The soup seems simple to make but it’s not. I also suggest not trying any “Japanese” food which is not made by native Japanese unless you know that it’s not real and you are ok...
Read moreHow are restaurants allowed to operate serving such disgusting food. If I can even call it that. I had better food when I visited a prison (San Quentin in California) for university… These tourist traps need to invest in a chef that knows how to make food that isn’t frozen then microwaved and honestly probably even poisoned. I have no idea how so many people give this place a good review. Did the restaurant spend their entire budget on fake reviews over real chefs and recipes? My friends and I couldn’t even eat our entrees. We took one bite of their BEST DISH (they emphasized how good it was when they gave it to us) aka aji de gallina, and my body naturally reacted and spit it out. The food was so bad my body instinctively rejected it, it rejected their “best” dish 😂. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant in my life. Not only was this the worst food I’ve ever had, they took over an hour and a half to give us inedible food. The food was so bad I didn’t want to take a picture, I just wanted to pay the bill and leave. I did however take a picture of their corn soup… let the picture speak for itself (hint this is onion and not corn lol). Please don’t eat here, I wouldn’t recommend this place to my...
Read moreWe were there yesterday for dinner, after noting that our original target had a long wait. We were intrigued by the nice atmosphere and were happy that they were able to seat us right away (it wasn’t that crowded), but we were not too excited that they limited us only to choices of two of the many open tables.
I was hindered by feeling ill, likely from altitude sickness, and I was a little frustrated that placing the order took an excessive amount of time for the number of people in the establishment, in addition to not being able to order the alpaca steak to which I was looking forward. However, when the food came out, everything got much better. The bread with the salsa was very good, and the aji de gallina I ended up having was quite delicious. The flavored rice in that dish was reminiscent of what we are used to from Hainanese chicken. The trout tartare was also very good as well. The kids really liked the chicken gnocchi.
I think this is an excellent choice if you wanna be around the main...
