We stayed here during our Boracay trip. The hotel was aesthetically pleasing on the inside, especially the dining room and the our room. The outside however was a bit dark and gloomy including the reception due to the poor lighting. Our hotel room was comfortable enough, from the firm mattress and soft pillows to the airconditioning. There were drinks on the mini fridge as well and the television offered various cable channels to choose from. Unfortunately, the room still lacked a few things, particularly the bathroom. There aren't enough places to hang the clothes on, there isn't a bidet to use in the bathroom and the small rack was situated right above the toilet paper roll so when you hang your wet clothes from the beach the roll gets wet as well. The sink area does not have a drainage so the water tend to pool in there and there aren't any rugs to keep the area dry. There was a heater available and we were thankful for it, unfortunately, it only worked for us during our first day and the rest of our stay was nothing but cold showers which aren't conducive when in an airconditioned room. A hotel staff was kind enough to offer us bath from the other room, only it had the same problems with the heating system. She then offered to heat up water for us but we declined to lessen the hustle it was going to cost her.
The hotel's free breakfast was good enough and presented cleanly. However, on our third day I've noticed the juice glasses to have some white oily substance on the rim as if they aren't cleaned properly. The hotel also offers various meal choices.
The one thing that peeved us the most was the fact that we were given a room with a double bed and a mattress on the floor. As a party of three, we were given the idea that we would be renting a room with one double bed and a single bed, not a mattress on the floor. We had no choice but to accept it because the staff said the other rooms were rented out and the other building was under reconstruction, hence unavailable. We reasoned that they shouldn't let anyone book hotel rooms when it wasn't available and would be offered an alternative.
As for the hotel staff, they were accommodating enough and kindly saw to our needs. The personnel to welcome us does not have a very good PR, but is welcoming nonetheless. She kept looking down though. The other personnel we encountered during the night shift was kind enough to offer us alternatives, as stated above about the heater dilemma.
Overall, the Blue Lotus is good enough place to stay. They have the makings of a good and affordable hotel if only they could improve their services and facilities. It is pretty close to the mall and the beach so it was pretty...
Read moreFirst off this hotel advertises that they have a swimming pool they do not. When I asked about a swimming pool that was on the internet they said that is only a dream for them. There were roaches in the room the electric kept going out no air conditioning the hot water would stay on for 1 minute and shut off. The staff was very rude they would not even say good morning would not even greet me or my spouse. They did not clean the room for 3 days we had the same towel for 3 days we bought our own towels. I had to ask for toilet paper because the room was not even visited once by anyone to clean it this is definitely not a place that you want to bring your wife to to impress her and have a good time. They said breakfast is free when we went downstairs at 6 o'clock for breakfast the dining room was 100 degrees no fan was working no air-con was working the cook did not even know what we wanted to eat after we ordered it the night before. This is a fly By Night operation if you want to go to Boracay I highly advise you do not go to the blue lotus unless you want to be...
Read moreI booked a Boracay package for two through a travel agency, which included the hotel accommodation. Was given a couple of choices for our hotel, and from other trip advisor reviews, I chose Blue Lotus. I wasn't disappointed. I was initially quite apprehensive, since the package really was a good deal (meaning, it was cheap) and my companion was picky. When we got to the hotel room, however, I was super relieved. The room itself was spacious, the bathroom quite big enough too, and everything looked clean. There's stable WIFI connection inside the rooms, and the TV has cable.||||The staff are very helpful and friendly, the food so-so, and the location GREAT. It's very near D'mall, the famous Jonah's Fruishakes, and of course, White Beach.||||I'd definitely stay in this hotel when I go back...
