This hotel has terrible customer service and I value the treatment of guests above all. When my parents and I had initially arrived to the hotel, the front desk receptionist was very unpleasant, rude, and annoyed. He informed us that the hotel policy only allows for 2 guests. Since I was at a foreign country with my elderly parents, I did not want to separate from them and had requested if it would be possible to book another room. He said there was only one night available and the other two nights for our stay is completely booked. I spoke to the manager and she completely disregarded my situation and her solution was for us to book another room for one night and if she can sell the rooms for the remainder of our stay we MAY potentially get a refund. There was absolutely no flexibility or concern for their guests. They did not seem to care if we were on the streets. I had no choice but to find a separate hotel at the very last minute for my father (who has a medical condition). The next day, my dad entered the hotel to take his medication he had left in my room, and the front desk receptionist assumed that he was there to eat breakfast and told him he is not able to use any facilities in the building. He also told him he cannot bring any luggages (he did not have any luggages). At that moment, it felt like a personal racial attack. I had even spoken to a higher up, and all he said was "I will have a team meeting". There are plenty of wonderful hotels nearby. Stay away from this hotel if you value...
Read moreThis hotel is ideally located in the city center, making it a convenient base for exploring major attractions, with easy access to the metro and key areas like Alfama and Belém. Despite its central location, the rooms are sufficiently sized and comfortable, equipped with the expected amenities (including body wash, lotion, shampoo, etc.) to ensure a pleasant stay. Breakfast, while not hot, offers a decent selection that should satisfy most guests. However, the real highlight is the hotel's unique 'tea time' offering in the basement lounge from 2 PM until just after midnight. Guests can enjoy complimentary Nespresso coffee, water, cake, and biscuits—perfect for a midday refreshment, a late-night snack, or simply pairing with a dessert picked up during the day. Adding to the charm, the hotel pays homage to its historical roots. Built on the site of an old blacksmith shop, guests can catch a glimpse of the past through preserved remains encased in glass within the lounge area. This thoughtful touch makes the stay even more memorable, blending modern comfort with the area's rich history. Overall, a great choice for those looking for a well-located, comfortable stay with a touch of character and some...
Read moreHotel is recently done. Doors and windows keep the room quiet which is a plus. This is a boutique hotel very similar to one you would find in NY. Small rooms. Absolutely no aIr conditioning in the common areas. This became an issue especially when you are at breakfast and there are easily 30 plus people in the same room with absolutely no ventilation. It was a terrible experience. The room air conditioner is controlled by the front desk so you have to wait for them to turn it on. They only give you one room key so they can save on electricity as you need to take your key with you. The shower was amazing but the drain stunk up the room that in combination of hot room, I became nauseous. The bed is not comfortable. The sheets are rough. The mattress had a plastic cover on it; we felt we were in a toddler bed. Location and the actual breakfast and decor are the only things going for this hotel. Instead of spending the money placing the logo everywhere they should provide air conditioning and take better care of the rooms for maintenance and better sleep experience where you don’t get up with back pains. Needless to say we will never...
