I stayed at Figueira Hotel in Lisbon this August and had a very enjoyable experience overall. The location is truly fantastic — right in the heart of the city, facing a beautiful square and just steps away from major attractions, restaurants, and shops.
My room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable, with a small balcony offering wonderful views of the square and Lisbon Castle. I later learned I had been eligible for a free room upgrade, which was not mentioned at check-in — a small but notable lapse in communication. That said, the room I received was beautiful, so I was still very pleased.
The cleanliness of both the room and bathroom was exceptional, and the housekeeping team — especially the ladies — were absolutely fantastic, keeping everything spotless throughout my stay.
The bathroom featured high-quality amenities (shampoo, shower gel, etc.), though the lighting was a bit dim. One small suggestion: it would have been nice to have a tissue box in the room, as well as slippers, which are typically expected at this level of hotel.
The coffee machine and free minibar were very much appreciated — a generous touch. However, having a few napkins or small paper towels alongside those amenities would have been helpful and more practical.
The only real inconvenience was that the air conditioning wasn’t working properly in the room. Fortunately, the staff responded promptly and provided a portable AC unit, which helped make the room more comfortable.
Lastly, the concierge and front desk staff were excellent — very welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable about the city.
Despite a few minor issues, I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend Figueira Hotel to anyone...
Read moreWe stayed here based on a recommendation from a friend so we didn't do proper due diligence before booking our Christmas vacation stay. And we regretted our decision the moment we checked into the room. The central location is the ONLY redeeming factor about this hotel. Everything else is sub-par. The rooms, while spacious, have terrible out-dated furniture. Our bathroom had no counter space, our shower handle was broken spraying water all over the bathroom (it's a tub with very narrow divider screen), and their toilet paper was terrible quality. They don't stock the room with face towels or paper tissues, claiming it's greener this way. The bed is comfortable, but the windows are too thin for a central location, making the evenings very loud that I had to sleep with ear plugs every night.
Now onto the "complimentary" breakfast... it's utterly disgusting. Their coffeemaker makes the most watered down low-quality coffee I've ever tasted. And their "buffet" has ample options of bad-tasting food. Even their pastries have a weird after taste to them. We couldn't bother eating here after our first attempt. So don't rely on their breakfast if you choose to stay here.
Lastly, their bar staff are very rude. Our friend was over-charged for a bill, after they seemingly included drinks we didn't order to our bill, and when we told them about it, they were extremely combative and flat-out disrespectful. And no one we talked to bothered to rectify the situation. Would I stay here again?...
Read moreWOW. I can be kind of picky with where I stay, and this hotel exceeded all expectations. Felt like a 5-star experience at a 3-star price. The entire concept of the hotel is very cool and immersive, you feel like you are inside a fig tree or something, natural wood everywhere, leafy green textiles, and very unique structure design where certain walls and the bar are abstract and wavy. The front desk staff was very attentive and helpful, and available 24/7 - they even open a Whatsapp chat with each guest incase they need something and can't call. The location is AMAZING - Rossio Square is central and walking distance to literally everything - we stumbled upon so many cool shops and restaurants and landmarks. Our bed was a king size bed and SO comfortable for 2 people with back pain. I booked this room after reading reviews about the comfortable beds, and we were not disappointed. The room as a whole did not disappoint. They refill your mini fridge every day with juice and water at no cost, they have high quality L'Occitane products for use in the bathroom so don't worry about bringing toiletries, and the curtains are controlled by controls next to the bed which is nice. We also got massages at the spa, and have no complaints there, there was not actually time in the schedule for us and we later found out the masseuse stayed late to accommodate us. I may be gushing, but this hotel really made our stay in Lisbon top tier....
