Delightful outpost for this lovely European chain. I'm usually hesitant to visit chains while traveling about (even regional chains). Still, I absolutely fell in love with Copenhagen Coffee Lab the last time I visited Europe, so I knew I had to make just one stop before my vacation ended. I came by on Sunday morning right before I hopped onto my train to the Lisbon International Airport. I love the vibes in all of the Copenhagen Coffee Labs, but this one was particularly cozy and homey; the brick walls and dark wooden tables made the shop feel like a small cabin, almost like I was getting ready to curl up next to a fireplace with a blanket and book. I also love that they have several windows, some looking into the coffee bar, others offering natural light to the patrons, so you could get a little sneak peek at the shop before walking in.
I got their flat white, which was amazing as always; I love the richness and depth of flavor in their beans, and they're never overly acidic...truly living up to their name as a coffee lab committed to quality and taste. I also got a combo of their pastries to share with my mom at the airport, including the pain au chocolat, plain croissant, and cardamom bun. The croissants were both good, and pretty flaky, but I absolutely LOVED the cardamom bun. It was slightly sweet and had a ton of cardamom flavor, and it was probably the softest, most pillowy pastry I had had in...
Read moreCashier messes up order, then blames the customer.
I came to visit with my girlfriend as we got recommended to come here but it will be the last time. We ordered 2 sandwiches, fruit juice, and an iced coffee. Sandwiches were mediocre at best. When the drinks came, they properly gave the juice but gave me americano coffee instead. I told the cashier that I wanted ICED COFFEE when we ordered. She asked what kind and I said Americano. I then tell a server that I got the wrong drink and he goes back to the team. The same cashier comes up to us and tells me I told her the wrong order. When we spoke the second time to try to resolve this, I tell her again that I wanted an iced coffee. She then asks me again what kind of coffee. I said AMERICANO. She then says you didn’t say ICED AMERICANO. Then what was the point of saying ICED COFFEE?
They did nothing to resolve this and then she said “Well I can’t lose out on a coffee. If you want the iced coffee you will have to pay for it again”
How does this even make sense when I didn’t get what I paid for in the first place?
2/5 overall. 2 for the atmosphere but in reality 1 for the...
Read moreThis café and brunch spot, which offers baked goods, serves mediocre coffee at a higher price point. However, its breakfast options provide great value for those looking to stay full until evening. The full breakfast plate, priced at €12 and including a drink, feels like a bargain compared to other brunch spots. The stylish, modern setting adds to its appeal, and ordering is convenient with a QR code system or a fast-food-style queue where customers receive a table number.
That said, the food itself is unremarkable, with simple, forgettable flavors. The coffee is passable, and the meal leans heavily on bread—offering three types of flour per plate, which fills you up but not in a satisfying way. While there is plenty of choice, most options revolve around different bread types and egg preparations. A nice touch is the inclusion of jam, but the ham and cheese feel cheap and rushed, resembling something from a kindergarten meal. An improvement in quality or their removal altogether would benefit the overall experience.
Ultimately, this spot feels more like a budget-friendly stop rather than an ideal way to start a day of...
