I've been attending Thai Smile since it opened up, originally, in Grand Junction. I was obsessed then and I'm even more obsessed that it's followed me to my new home. The food is consistently delicious as Yon ensures everything is made fresh and with lots of love. Na ensures that service and atmosphere runs smoothly and everyone is taken care of.
To address the negative comments: The crying tiger is NOT a steak. I've been getting this dish for almost 10 years now and it's consistent every time. It's supposed to have fat on it, it's not a steak, don't expect it to taste like one. The menu says, "beef slices," not steak slices. Read. Yes love, you're going to have to wait when a small, family owned restaurant is at capacity on their tables. Be patient or go to McDonalds. Thai Chili and Thai Smile are two different places, don't be racist and compare their foods. Two different families sharing two different family recipes. Have some respect. This is not an American restaurant. If you can't handle that, go somewhere else.
The food and time is worth it. It's always delicious and if you're unhappy with your order, I promise, if you just ask, they'll fix it.
I'd recommend the Crying Tiger with a medium to spicy sauce, the Beef Pho, milk tea, and both of the Thai teas.
You won't regret it! (If you're able to read and open minded to other cultures)
Much love to Na...
Read moreMy family said that they enjoyed their food and the service/atmosphere was good. However, the “crying tiger” was one of the worst meals I’ve ever ordered anywhere. A very fatty unseasoned piece of steak with raw carrots and raw broccoli along with some sort of sauce that was completely inedible on the side. I highly regret ordering this and did not eat half of it. This meal had no positives. Not only did it taste terrible, it was extremely overpriced. Other things on the menu might be better but for the “crying tiger” it’s zero stars. (FYI “grilled beef” in the way you serve it is definitely steak calling it “Thai” does not change what it is🤣 despite what you may call it the whole plate was...
Read moreSuper cute spot with really tasty dishes! The flavor was super authentic in every dish! Large space with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! The plating was also lovely, especially the khao soi that I had ordered! We also got a chicken pineapple fried rice, cashew rice, seafood hot pot and chicken drunk noodles and I tasted all of the dishes and thought they were all amazing! Service was friendly and quick. The thai iced tea was also super yummy! The only complaint I have is that the bathroom didn’t have hand soap, just hand sanitizer, i personally don’t like thinking about staff just using hand sanitizer and not washing...
